Today we mark Remembrance Day.
At 11am, Australians will pause for one minute today to remember all those who have served in times of war and conflict and to honour their legacy.
Originally known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of the day the Armistice was signed, ending fighting in the First World War (1914–18).
After the Second World War, the Australian Government agreed to the United Kingdom's proposal that Armistice Day be renamed Remembrance Day, to commemorate those who lost their lives in both World Wars.
Lest we forget.
