2990 punters having the time of their lives in lovely Albany at Wignalls on the Australia Day long weekend in 2019. The heavens looked after us with a glorious mild day, to be enjoyed on the lawns by the thousands.
The performers, stage, lights, PA and promoters were simply incredible, literally an International standard show attracting a diverse crowd from all around WA, many came from Perth which is a huge boost to Albany’s growing tourism industry and economy. Thank You!
Wignalls would like to clarify to our customers and followers a much talked about issue on the night regarding wine “selling out”. After consultation with our Liquor Licensing division, a small amount of people where inappropriately consuming wine. Due to this, with our Racing Gaming and liquor laws, we were advised to stop selling wine as our duty of care at 8.30pm over the bar for everybody, to reduce any harm to our community instantly. Believe us, we did NOT sell out of wine, we acted responsibly and we thank our customers for their understanding. Don’t forget Wignalls is available Australia wide so to state we sold out of six wine styles in exactly the same minute is simply unbelievable, this is a fact of our policies and “Duty of Care”!
So many thanks to our amazing staff that were pushed to the max with this capacity crowd, yes toilets worked hard and the bar did get exceptionally busy for an hour mid show, but our staff pushed through and made it happen.
Last but not least, thank you for all our suppliers, staff and most importantly our customers that have been most gratifying over the last 48 hours, we are glad to be back providing entertainment on a large scale to our community and tourism industry and cementing Albany as the best town to live in in Australia!!!
