๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ง Drainage brought back under control.

We recently completed clean up works at Great Southern TAFE, removing built up vegetation and silt that was restricting flow and making the area difficult to manage.

The aim was to open the drain back up, improve water movement, restore access along the edge, and leave the site in a condition that can be maintained properly moving forward.

A practical job, but an important one before the next run of wet weather.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ Storm damage recovery

Last seasons rains left sections of this established boundary line heavily washed out, with erosion reaching up to a metre deep in places.

This job was about more than tidying up. It involved restoring access, rebuilding the boundary line properly, and cutting in strategic water diversion points to capture and redirect runoff, helping reduce the risk of future washouts.

Clean, practical work that helps clients recover quickly after weather damage and keep their property infrastructure in shape.

๐Ÿ A tidy up that makes a real difference.

We recently completed a clean up around this local cricket ground, clearing back overgrown vegetation along the boundary and around the practice nets to improve access, presentation and overall usability of the space.

Just as importantly, work like this helps reduce built up fuel loads around community assets. Maintaining boundary areas and surrounds is a practical step in lowering fire risk, improving defendable space and keeping facilities easier to manage heading into the warmer months.

Proud to help keep local spaces in better shape for the people who use them.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒฟ BAL FZ reduced to BAL 29

This site was originally classified as BAL FZ. The highest level of bushfire exposure.

To enable future development, fuel loads and radiant heat pathways had to be strategically reduced to achieve a BAL 29 rating and establish a compliant building envelope.

Challenges on this project included:

โ€ข Steep undulating terrain
โ€ข Dense established bushland
โ€ข Multiple exposed services
โ€ข Controlled reduction without destabilising slopes

Vegetation was mechanically reduced through a mixture of mulching and physical labour to create defendable space, followed by a 200mm topsoil strip with the excavator to prepare the building envelope for a Surefoot engineered footing system.

This project also marked our first week operating as an expanded crew. Welcoming our first employee into the company.

Waking up on site to this.

No alarms. No traffic.Just fresh air, open country and the quiet before the machine fires up.

Hard to complain when this is the office.

Another milestone in the journey.

We were recently featured as a case study in Earthmoving Equipment Magazine, reflecting the work weโ€™re doing in strategic vegetation management and fire mitigation across regional Western Australia.

This recognition reinforces why a proactive approach matters.
Well planned vegetation management doesnโ€™t just reduce fuel loads.
It helps create more defensible assets and better outcomes when pressure is on.

Still early days, but weโ€™re building capability with intent and a clear focus on preparedness, resilience, and long term land stewardship.

Big few days working alongside local brigades after a run of fires kicked off last week.

Supporting operations, learning fast, and seeing firsthand how preparation, access, and ground support make a real difference when conditions turn.

Every deployment adds experience, sharpens decision making, and reinforces why the work we do before fire season matters just as much as what happens on the line.

Another small step in the right direction.

Working in and around fire grounds like this reinforces why we focus so heavily on preparation, access, and fuel management.

Every job builds experience, capability, and understanding.
All part of the long game toward becoming a trusted frontline asset when it counts.

Wrapping up the week scoping upcoming works beyond our usual footprint and into the Wheatbelt.

This year marks a clear step forward for Wild Earth Contracting as we expand our reach and capability across remote and regional Western Australia. Large scale vegetation management and critical fire prevention in challenging environments is where we add the most value.
