FINISTERRE: THE END OF THE WORLD AND TRADITIONAL WAY TO FAREWELL THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO

The Romans believed they witnessed the sun’s demise as it sank into the Atlantic Ocean from this very location, and since then, Finisterre has held a special meaning for pilgrims.

For us it marked the conclusion of their Camino journey and no better place to finish ✨

It’s a unique Pilgrimage Route as it is the only trail that begins in Santiago de Compostela, leading you westward to the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Galicia to the traditional endpoint of the Camino at Cape Finisterre (Fisterra).

We got very emotional as we took off our boots 🥾 peeled off our socks 🧦 and walked along the beach 🏖️

We had walked over 900km from the Pyrenees ⛰️to the ocean 🌊 and it was a beautiful, monumental and contemplative experience 💕

Another 4km on we hit the 00.00km mark - we made it ! ✨

No words can explain how this felt - but it will remain in our Camino memories forever ✨
