Though my brand is "Rebuild. Reinvent. Rise" - one can construe the rebuilding part in two ways'. Either replacing what was or creating something new. The latter is what I am now doing. I don't want my property nor any aspect of my life to look the same as it was before the fire. I now look at that event as the catalyst to elevate every little thing. It's all in how you look at it. ❤️‍🔥👀

Some women rebuild their lives quietly. 🤫
No dramatic announcement. 📣
No big social media reveal. 💻
Just a woman slowly reclaiming her life. 🙆🏻‍♀️
Setting boundaries she never set before. 🧱
Trusting herself again. 🦸🏻‍♀️
Trying things she once believed were impossible. 💪🏻
And one day she realises something. 💡
The version of her that existed before the loss could never have created the life she’s building now. ❤️‍🔥
Because rising doesn’t mean going back to who you were. 🏔️

It means becoming someone more authentic, more empowered and more free. ⛓️‍💥
If you feel like you’re rising in this season of life, comment “Rising".

We need to stop treating burnout like a personality trait.
Exhaustion is not resilience.
Hypervigilance is not leadership.
And functioning in survival mode is not a workplace culture anyone should be applauding.
For years, toxic workplaces have hidden behind phrases like:
“High performance.”
“Fast paced.”
“Pressure creates leaders.”
Meanwhile people were quietly unraveling behind closed office doors, in parked cars before work, and at 2am staring at ceilings wondering how much longer they could keep going.
The Psychosocial Regulations now force a long overdue shift in responsibility.
Because psychological safety is no longer optional.
And mental wellbeing is no longer an afterthought squeezed between KPI meetings and birthday cake in the lunchroom.
Organisations are now legally required to identify psychosocial risks before harm occurs.
Not after someone breaks.
Before.
That means looking honestly at:
⚡ Workplace pressure
⚡ Bullying and toxic leadership
⚡ Unrealistic workloads
⚡ Chronic stress
⚡ Emotional exhaustion
⚡ Unsafe workplace culture

And here’s the uncomfortable truth:
Many organisations don’t have a wellness problem.
They have a leadership problem wearing a wellness lanyard.
Real psychosocial safety requires action.

Systems.
Education.
Prevention.
Humanity.

Not performative “RUOK?” cupcakes once a year.
The future of leadership belongs to organisations brave enough to care about people before crisis hits.

And frankly?
It’s about bloody time.

I was deeply disturbed to read the Statement from Carlton Football Club regarding the Elijah Hollands incident last month.
There is so much at play here I don't know where to start ...
Firstly, there would have been many signs that he was unwell long before he took to the field on April 16. For anyone who was either at that game or watched it on TV or via replay, it was difficult to watch.
Secondly, the fact that it took so long to remove him from the field is equally disturbing. There were a LOT of people that could clearly see he was not well - players, officials, fans. He was taken off 20 minutes' into the final quarter!
Thirdly, the fact that WorkCover is now investigating raises further more serious issues of the workplace culture at Carlton Football Club. Especially for women.
Mental health in the workplace is no longer a 'nice to have' - it's now legislation. Corporations - including football clubs - are now mandated to have programs in place that are proactive. Not these sorts of knee jerk reactions and looking the other way when someone is clearly suffering and struggling. This is real. It's tangible. And we can't afford to look away anymore.
With a Mother who has suffered from mental health issues for most of her life and an Autistic son, I fully understand what it's like to be ignored, abandoned, forgotten and stigmatized. And going through this is a constant and daily reminder of what mental health is and how very important it is to take constant and ongoing preventative measures.
I applaud our Governments for implementing the because we now work in a climate that is more stressful and toxic than ever before. But there is now firm legislation forcing corporations to now be held to account and proactively provide programs for employee
And this is the work I now do.

Play small? Pffft! We are Gen X and we have been through hell and come out the other side. Stronger. Wiser. Less room for BS. We were left to our own devices as teens. Received our baptism of fire into the workforce of misogyny in our 20s. Got married and started having kids in our 30s. Some of our had our little midlife crisis (guilty) in our 40s and by the time our 50s came, it was time to look around and ask - what's next? Reinvention is our destiny.

At what age were women told to stop wanting a big life? ⁉️
Somewhere along the way, society quietly whispers:

“Tone it down now.”
“Be realistic.”
“Don’t reinvent at this stage.”

And yet…
There’s a voice in you getting louder, not quieter. 🔊
That’s not delusion.
That’s truth trying to break through decades of conditioning. ⛓️‍💥

You’re allowed to want:

• more freedom
• more joy
• more impact
• more money
• more YOU!!

At 50+ you don’t shrink your dreams.
You refine them and go after them with precision, strategy and a pair of killer heels. 👠
Drop a 🔥 if your ambition didn’t get the memo to slow down.

As women over 50, we know this. Holding everything together and being strong for everyone else. And honestly, we don't have to anymore. Kids have left home. Parents' have either passed or in care. Career transition. We've weathered some significant storms throughout. We don't have to hold it all together anymore. Now is our time. It's time to lay the foundation for what we want, who we want around us and how we choose to be seen and treated. And how empowering is that?

So if you've been wondering what I now do for work, well here it is. I have become an Independent Coach for a company called Brain Health Analytics based out of The Netherlands utilizing their scan. I've also become a Licensee for an Aussie company called Quality Mind AI Different but the same. With Brain Health Analytics I'll be working with clients one-on-one - with Quality Mind, it will be corporations. And the reason for this is the that became law here in Australia late last year. What does it mean? Well, I wrote a blog post about it. If you're a HR person, Head of People and Culture etc etc you may be interested to learn more about the services that I can tailor to your company to stay compliant with the new mandate. Given what I've been through since January - and continuing to go through - I believe I'm fairly well placed to talk all things mental wellbeing.

Anything less than awesome and amazing is just not good enough anymore. I'm done with settling. Settling for Government decisions that just don't cut it. Settling for 'near enough'. Settling for Economy. Settling for people's bad behaviour. Just nope. No more. I'm done. 🙅🏻‍♀️

I believe Gillian Anderson said "f*(k off" to those who tell us that our best lives are behind us. What a fallacy! We've now got wisdom. We've got money. We've got time. And we've got way less tolerance for BS. So to those who say we're beyond it, just get out of our way and let us get on with it!
