On behalf of Territory Connect, we extend a huge thank you to the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation team and the incredible members of Course 33, who took the time to connect with our community, share ideas and enjoy meaningful conversations with some of Central Australia’s amazing leaders.

Thank you to our wonderful emcee, Daniel Milne, and our guest speakers Rayleen Brown, Kylie Elston and Amber Driver for generously sharing your experiences, insights and leadership.

We also sincerely thank all the local people who attended, welcomed the cohort and contributed to such thoughtful and engaging conversations.

A special shout-out to Cindy and the team at The Bean Tree Cafe and Olive Pink Botanic Garden for your warm hospitality and for helping us create such a memorable evening.

Most importantly, thank you to the entire Course 33 cohort for bringing such openness, curiosity and generosity to Alice Springs.

This is why we bring people together.

Territory Connect creates opportunities for people to meet, share ideas and build connections that can lead to real outcomes for the Northern Territory.

Our upcoming Leading Territory Networking Dinner will bring 31 leaders from rural, regional and remote Australia together with Central Australian leaders and changemakers for an evening of genuine conversation and connection.

Among them are three Northern Territorians participating in Course 33 of the Australian Rural Leadership Program:

Dr Chrischona Schmidt, Manager of Ikuntji Artists at Haasts Bluff, works alongside First Nations artists to share Central Australian art and culture with national and international audiences.

Claire Maradani, a Darwin-based business owner and leadership coach, works with businesses and regional employers to strengthen workforce development and create economic opportunities.

Stuart McGifford is an Alice Springs-based community leader whose work has included Aboriginal health, disability advocacy and community development.

Chrischona and Claire were supported through Territory Connect scholarships, made possible by our generous community of more than 500 donors. Stuart received his scholarship through the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.

Talk about a revealing day!

Day 1 - Standley Chasm to reveal saddle

Big thanks to the Locals for the delicious coffee and breakfast plus the Bakery for some delicious snacks! We headed off to Standley Chasm for a great day of walking, slowing the pace, yarning and sharing stories.

Day 1 of the Joyful Souls Leadership on Larapinta Walk is all about slowing down our minds, finding our pace and connecting to Country, ourselves and each other.
