Sorby Adams Wines

Sorby Adams Wines Sorby Adams Wines is based on the philosophy that great wines are made in the vineyard.

Simon Sorby Adams can attest to the theory that great wines are made in the vineyard.

Throughout his 45 vintages, including 20 as Yalumba Chief Winemaker (Hill-Smith Family Estates) crafting some of the Barossa’s most prized red wines, Simon has remained true to the traditional ways of winemaking, oak and region.

Today, Simon, and his wife Jill, partner with regional growers in Australia’s

Eden Valley and Barossa Valley to make wines with elegance and power. Their use of four-year air-dried new French oak ensures red wines are also made with impeccable ageing potential.

Sustainability too sits at the heart of this family winemaker, where reducing its environmental impact includes the use of renewable energy, rainwater, light weighted glass and recycled paper labels.

Sorby Adams Wines is a family brand (Anna Louisa Sorby married Augustus Crichton Adams in the early 1800s in Hertfordshire and has been our family name ever since) and the family are proud to produce wines that showcase their heritage as well as their sense of place in the esteemed Barossa Valley.

The Barossa has been Simon ‘Sorby’ Adams’ home since 1980.

We absolutely loved reading this. 😊

What really resonated with us was the word 'curious' because that's bang on at the heart of what Gudilly by Sorby Adams is all about.

Trying something different, discovering new favourites, and sharing the experience with others.

We've got some brand new varieties to get curious about too, with a Moscato and Pecorino just released, and Montepulciano and Aglianico arriving later in the year.

Thanks, Dani for the wonderful review, the delicious pairing inspiration, and for helping more people get their curious on. Cheers!

Not long now!

Jill and I are packing up the wines and heading to South East Queensland for Back to the Barossa, and we can't wait.

It's not often you see this many Barossa winemakers hit the road together. With 20+ of us and more than 100 wines to taste, it's about as close as you'll get to visiting the Barossa without leaving Queensland.

It got me wondering... if we added up all the vintages across this crew, how many years of harvests, grape crushing and winemaking would there be? A fair few, I'd reckon!

BRISBANE ANGELS... BRACE YOURSELVES! 🍷

Well, Melbourne, you were an absolute ripper last night. Plenty of laughs, plenty of stories, and a fair bit of wine disappeared along the way.

Now it's Brisbane's turn.

The Naked Wines Annual Tasting Tour rolls into town tonight, and us old winemakers are packing up the bottles and heading your way.

Whether you've been drinking wine longer than I've been making it (unlikely!) or you're just getting started, come and say g'day. I'd love to share a glass with you, answer a few questions, and hear what's been happening in your corner of the world.

Brisbane Angels, we're coming for you. 🍷

Cheers,
Sorb

DOUBLE TROUBLE.
One very proud winemaker.

We're thrilled to see not one, but two of our wines nominated in the Naked Wines Wine of the Year Awards 2026.

✨Sorby Adams Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
✨Penfield Farm Pinot Bianco 2025 (Adelaide Hills)

To be recognised alongside such a talented group of winemakers is a huge honour, and we're incredibly grateful to the Angels who have supported these wines every step of the way.

Get your tasting packs, discover all the nominees, and when voting opens on 18 August, we'd be honoured to have your support.

Thank you, Angels. We couldn't do this without you.
Cheers, Sorb 🍷

Something exciting is heading to you soon, Angels! 🤫

I can’t tell you exactly what it is just yet, but can give you a few clues to tease your tastebuds...Think electric energy. Think a wine so zippy it practically skips across your tongue. It’s absolutely crunchy—like biting into the crispest green apple you can find—with a sherbety citrus kick that will make you pucker up and smile. It is pure, squeaky-clean, and packed with a spring-loaded freshness perfect for sunny days ahead.

Can you guess the variety or the famous Aussie region it comes from?

Drop your best guesses in the comments below! 🥂👇

Cheers, Sorb.

Thanks so much, , for such a fantastic review and for your ongoing support of our Sorby Adams and Gudilly Single Vineyard wines.

Making a GSM is a Barossa winemaker's regional rite of passage, and we're incredibly fortunate to source such amazing old vine Grenache for this blend from the hallowed northern grounds of Ebenezer.

We're thrilled you enjoyed it, and we love reading all the supportive and engaging comments from your community.

The stars have certainly aligned with this wine!
Cheers, Sorb.
