♻️Become part of the circular economy with our Apollo Bay locally produced soil enhancer / plant food. 🌿

WHAT IS IT? Food waste is collected from Apollo Bay businesses and added to the compost machine. The compost machine uses warmth, aeration and friendly microbes to break down the waste quickly. Rather than heading to landfill, this waste remains local, and is turned into garden fertiliser to feed our plants and soil.

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE? Apollo Bay Home Hardware, Apollo Bay Farmers Market or direct from the Compost Shed (35 Costin Street, Apollo Bay) Mon & Fridays 8:30am

HOW MUCH IS IT? Only $5 (2kg), $15 (7.5kg) or $25 (15kg)

HOW DO I USE IT? The plant food contains a large amount of nutrients concentrated in a small amount of material. It is similar to blood and bone and is best spread out or mixed well into soil. Best to add in spring and summer.

Established gardens: monthly surface application, watered in.
Before planting: a generous amount mixed into your planting bed.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? Our dedicated volunteer champions collect, process, bag, and sell the plant food.

Come along to Farmers Market tomorrow and purchase some compost, made from local food waste , to enrich your garden soil which will then produce wonderful healthy veggies and don’t we all love fresh veggies , straight from garden to pan to plate ! Yum
This month we have a limited number of approx 2 kg containers of compost or the regular 15 kg bags . Cash or direct deposit.
Support a local community project run entirely by volunteers which helps to reduce food waste going to landfill.

This compost is very fine , not like your back yard compost . It is very rich and feeds the soil, worms and microorganism .
This rich soil then produces healthy veggies for you and your family .
So do come and buy a bag at Home Hardware or from compost shed Costin Street , Monday or Friday mornings .
