Meet Blake aka Woody👋

Boilermaker by trade, Supervisor by role and a good example of what you can do when you put your head down and get stuck in.

In just under two years with Mader, Woody has gone from the tools to Team Leader and now Supervisor with our IM Shutdowns crew, looking after both dry and wet plant.

When he’s not on site, you’ll probably find him getting amongst our Three Gears adventures, kicking back with mates or hanging with the crew.

What does Woody reckon is the best thing about Mader? The opportunity to keep moving forward.

More projects. More industries. More opportunities to step up.

That’s the Mader way🔧

From Underground to Overseas – Ryan’s Mader Journey 🔧

Ryan kicked off his Mader journey in 2020 after a few mates, who are now lifelong friends, convinced him to take the plunge.

He started out in the Goldfields underground division and soon discovered a whole new world beneath the surface. He also did a stint in the NSW Hard Rock division, which gave him a taste of different challenges and crews.

By 2022, Ryan had the opportunity to head to Canada, spending just over a year supporting underground operations. “That year was unreal,” he says. “It really pushed me, gave me new skills, and showed me how Mader operates around the world.”

Coming back home, Ryan stepped up to a Team Leader role, leading crews and sharing the Mader standards and work ethic that have shaped his career. These days, he’s part of one of Mader’s underground drill support site teams, working alongside some absolute legends.

There have been some funny moments along the way too, Ryan holds the title of being the first person to get the Mader cogs tattooed on him 😂

For Ryan, it’s not just about the work. “Mader’s a career for life. You meet some of the best people you’ll ever know, from top management to the field crew. There’s this instant connection. Whether it’s passing another Mader ute and waving or working together on site. And if something goes wrong, someone, somewhere in the world, will pick up the phone and help you fix it within minutes.”

You never stop learning on site. “My skills grow every single day. No two days are the same. Even when everything hits the fan, you finish the day laughing with mates, knowing you’ve done a good job.”

Ryan’s journey has been full of growth, adventure, and mateship and he reckons it’s only just getting started.

Nothing brings people together quite like a rodeo! 🤠

Our QLD Hard Rock team made the trip north to the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, catching up with customers and crew along the way.

Proud to sponsor an entry flag horse and even prouder to spend the day connecting with the people who make our industry what it is.

Thanks for having us, Mount Isa!

Brent’s Journey: Mader Life 💙

I kicked things off with Mader in 2025, diving straight into the Field Service Team. I first saw an ad on YouTube and thought, “Yeah… that looks like a bit of me.” The more I read and watched, the more I knew this was exactly where I wanted to be.

I was meant to start in February 2025, but life had other plans. A ruptured tendon in my right bicep wasn’t ideal timing. I honestly thought the Mader dream was done and dusted. But, Mader had my back and were happy to wait until I got the all clear. Three months post-op, I finally got the green light and started on May 5, 2025. Since then, I haven’t looked back… well, only to reflect with a cold one in hand.

Out in the Pilbara, I’m everywhere and anywhere. Different sites, different customers, different machines. It’s tough work, no doubt, but there’s nothing better than knocking over a job and knowing you’ve nailed it.

What really makes it though are the people. Wherever you go, there’s always a Mader mate around to have a yarn, share a laugh, or lend a hand. Proper camaraderie, from site to Perth HQ, rugby with the lads, or firing up the braai with a few cold ones. Everyone’s approachable, and the culture is spot on. I even take a bit of pride in my own ute, “Shrapnel.” Gotta keep her neat and tidy, you can’t be rolling around looking like you’ve been living out of it (even if sometimes you basically are 😂).

I’m still fairly new to the Mader crew, but I’ve already learned heaps and I’m keen to keep growing. Down the track, I’d love to have a crack at a coordinator role and see where that leads. Who knows what’s next, but for now, I’m just getting stuck in, enjoying the ride, and making the most of every opportunity.

When I’m not on site, I’m back home in Wellington, NZ, after a solid swing. I catch up with the real bosses: my wife Stacey and our two girls, Madi and Izzy. Stace holds the fort while I’m away, so when I’m home, it’s my turn to run around and keep things ticking.

The Mader International team has been busy on the ground in the Philippines!

Operations Manager Jamie and Coordinator Brandon have spent the week connecting with existing clients, meeting new industry partners, and exploring exciting opportunities to support mining operations across the region.

We’re looking forward to building on these relationships and growing Mader International’s presence in the Philippines!

A huge congrats to Rob, who’s just taken home a brand new CRF50F after referring Brendan to join our South West team.

That’s what our Mates of Mader program is all about, backing the people who back us. When our crew brings great talent into the team, we make sure the effort doesn’t go unnoticed.

If you've got a mate who'd be a great fit for Mader, send them our way...your next reward could be waiting. 👀
