Gibson's is thrilled to report exceptional results for two fantastic collections sold recently in our rooms. Interiors | Private Collections delivered spirited bidding across art, furniture and decorative arts, achieving the following statistics:

The Peter de Campo Collection
97% sold by volume | 259% by value

Property from the Collection of Paul Guest OAM KC
90% sold by volume | 174% by value

Among the standout results, an 18th-century Aubusson verdure tapestry achieved $39,273, while a George III mahogany campaign sofa reached $17,182, almost 12 times its estimate.

For Paul Guest OAM KC, collecting was never about following the market - It was about curiosity, friendship and the ideas that unfold between an artist and their work.

A three-time Olympian, barrister, Family Court judge and passionate patron of Australian art, Guest built a remarkable collection over decades, shaped by close relationships with artists including Gareth Sansom, Jan Senbergs, George Baldessin, Robert Jacks and Andrew Sibley.

His collection is a portrait of a collector who trusted his instincts and believed the true value of art lay in the connections and conversations it created.
