Hi all. I’m back in Victoria after a month in Tasmania and looking for some volunteers to help with the bins and waste sorting for the lakes lights winterfest event on the 12th of July with me. Please get in touch if you can help.
Ps I can confirm that the beautiful beaches of Tasmania now have just a little less rubbish on them after Floss and I did mini cleanups wherever we went! Actually Floss stared the clean ups just like I used to do as kid. It’s very satisfying!

A WasteNot sort of banana bread in the oven ready to take and share at the Bairnsdale repair cafe this morning. I was at the Bairnsdale Neighbourhood house yesterday scouting for a book week outfit and grabbed some excess old bananas whilst I was there. Now they are cake and I’ll be off to the repair cafe at 10am this morning at the hub Bairnsdale. Come and bring your items in need of repair and have morning tea with us.

It will be a busy weekend for THE WasteNot MOVEMENT. But first, the well being bit. I’m very excited to be diving in at the Gippsland Jersey Winter Solstice Swim tomorrow morning as a part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival. And yes the chilly blast is part of the well being! I’m so glad that Gippsland Jersey have embraced a little bit of sustainability in this event too. I will be there with reusable cups for anyone who would like to grab their post swim coffee or chai in ceramic instead of single use cups.

Howitt Park market this Sunday. This little reusable coffee cup system is kicking off and cup usage is increasing. I’m very happy to have reusable cups available at the Big bear donut van this month too. Thanks to Cafe Rossi and Chocky Sweet Box for their more than willing participation at last months market.
