School/kindergarten/day care hat season is back. There are plenty of hats here and lots and lots of tiny shoes too. Come and stock up. The WasteNot Movements kids clothes library in WyYung. Free for all. Plenty of clothes/hats/shoes/cloth nappies in sizes 0000 to small adult. We will also happily accept donations of the same. Happy spring everyone

This can be one powerful way for kids to create their own version of themselves. A big box of clothes, lots of yes or no’s and then a pile of clothes the kids are happy with. Whether it’s for comfort, color, brands, feel, fit or purpose when their is choice and no money noise involved it’s very cool to see what the kids will try! We have school basics, shoes, gymnastic wear, cowboy boots, tap shoes, pj’s, baby sleeping bags and everything in between and the list goes on. Contact me if you’re interested.

Today’s very good reason to use the kids clothes library…Save your space. Weather we are talking cupboard space or mental space- we tick both boxes.
When you keep only the clothes that you and your kids absolutely love, you save room on storing the unwanted stuff AND life is just easier when you let it go. Here’s my top reasons that we keep unworn items in the kids cupboard when we probably shouldn’t.
1. I paid for it and want to see it worn
2. I like it but the kid doesn’t
3. It was a gift
4. They will grow into it eventually
5. They grew out of it ages ago and I haven’t sorted the cupboard out yet or…
6. It was under the zoo in my car for a very long period of time and I thought it had decomposed by now.
So how can the clothes library help? Well, when you have easy access to a large range of items and sizes you only need to keep the loved stuff that you need right now. You can come and get more or the next size whenever you need. Come and check out open arvo this Friday the 10th from 2–4pm. Wyyung

Another day, another reason to use the kids clothes library (and you can have one every day until our open arvo this Friday!)
We have such a wide range of quality and everyday items in the clothes library here and plenty of it. By reusing what we have here locally, we can impact the amount of textiles being not only purchased but also produced.
My biggest learning in the last few years is about circular economy and items that are produced but then sit in storage (unused in our homes, unpurchased in op shops or living in landfills!)
If we store less in our homes and get the unwanted items to someone else the world won’t need to produce more. Done ✔️

Top WasteNot reason to come and use the kids clothes library…it saves you an absolute bucket full of money. There is boxes and boxes of kids clothes in all sizes from baby 0000 to about kids size 14. Come and kit out your kids. Always free, always easy and always fun.

Battled the wind today at the East Gippsland field days to provide some sustainable kids crafts. Also got to spread the word about the kids clothes library, ski gear library and reusable party kits.

I’m very excited to be able to bring the reusable movement to the wild Cherry Steiner school spring fair this weekend. Come and get a coffee and a feed. Reusable cups and bowls for the win.

Hi all. I’m back in Victoria after a month in Tasmania and looking for some volunteers to help with the bins and waste sorting for the lakes lights winterfest event on the 12th of July with me. Please get in touch if you can help.
Ps I can confirm that the beautiful beaches of Tasmania now have just a little less rubbish on them after Floss and I did mini cleanups wherever we went! Actually Floss stared the clean ups just like I used to do as kid. It’s very satisfying!
