The first of five mobile driving simulators has arrived and will be stationed at Central Highlands for real-world testing.

The mobile simulators play a vital role in preparing volunteers for high-risk driving scenarios in a safe, controlled environment, including scenarios that are challenging to replicate in real life.

Including emergency response driving (with lights and sirens), navigating firegrounds and managing potential rollovers in challenging off-road conditions.

The remaining four simulators are expected to be delivered by the end of the year and are part of a $1.29m project for the Upskilling and Protecting our Firefighters Program, funded by the Victorian Government.

District 14 continues to build capability through Respond to Urban training.
More members completed their practical training at CFA Central Highlands in June, developing and refining their structural firefighting skills.

From fire attack and search procedures, the training is helping ensure our firefighters are prepared for the demands of modern structural firefighting.

Bellarine Group Training Day

A great day bringing members together to train, learn and challenge themselves across a range of operational activities, including multi-storey house entry, hose management, gas ventilation, BA operations, and realistic scenario drills involving multiple casualties and long-duration incidents.

CFA Central Highlands Training Campus regularly accommodates external agencies for training. First Aid Training Group worked on training with flashovers, vehicle fires and flammable gases.

Recently, the team at First Aid Training Group had the opportunity to put one of our clients through their paces with hands-on fire suppression training.

The training included using fire extinguishers on live fire props, experiencing firsthand what a flashover looks and feels like, and putting newly learnt skills into practice by making entry into a smoke-filled building to locate and rescue casualties while extinguishing fires. The group also completed training involving vehicle fires and flammable gases.

All training was tailored to align with the requirements of their specific worksite, giving participants practical, real-world experience in a controlled environment.

A great day of learning, teamwork, and building confidence in high-pressure situations.
