2 Plumbers could not clear the blocked drain pipe behind the heater. As a result the area floods. I put a surface drain in to move the flood to a nearby surface drain.

Front gate base re-welded, paint and gate remounted. My weld is twice the size of the original.

Old rill was too shallow and the water pipe was not buried deep enough. Plastic fishpond also needed to be lowered by 5 cm. Now fixed.

Oops. Tap plumbing not sealed at the tiles. Fittings have no rubber seals and don’t cover the hole. Guess it’s been leaking a while. Also vertical corner was grouted not siliconed and yes it all fell out. I’ll be running in some silicon to waterproof after I’ve regrouted.

62 SQM of C grade black butt hardwood from QLD on a damp proof membrane, board underlay, all joints compressed, glued and concealed nailing. Sanded and 3 coats of sealant. 2 people and a couple of weeks effort. Customer to fill the interesting feature holes with clear resin. Very happy with the quality of the finish and that the rooms were joined with zero gap.

A bigger job than I’d usually take on these days but I had some apprentices. Old ceiling down (precut cornices off the walls), rerun some cables and add new ones for speakers (forward plan for fans, battery and solar), insulate and rebuild.

Never let your garden bed build up over your damp course or the slab. Issue compounded by layers of mortar built up on the Base plate. Resulting moisture rotted out the plate and the slaters moved in. Replacement will be sealed with anti-fungal, bitumened and a damp course under the timber, just for fun.
