Since 2014, Liz Hartley has run Barcaldine's go-to appliance and electrical shop on Willow Street, formerly part of the Leading Appliances group, now proudly independent and serving the whole central west.

.landart found her eye for painting at around 10, when a travelling art teacher came through Barcaldine and her mum bought her first set of paints. Life, and raising four kids, meant painting stayed a weekend thing for years. Now she paints every day, still chasing that perfect watercolour, still finding new things to put in the frame. What hasn't changed is what she paints for: the grey and yellow grass, the big blue sky, the space only the outback gives you. Kept accessible on purpose, so anyone passing through Barcaldine can take a piece of it home. 🎨🌾
