OUTBACK SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

Are you interested in being part of a practical, regional small business network?
...that will also include workshops on marketing, social media, business photography, masterminds and other topics identified by you.

The goal is to advertise and support our small businesses with practical info, experts, resources, opportuntities to collaborate and grow and enable a forum for independent small business owners to connect with like-minded folk and not feel quite so alone tackling small business issues.

PS the photo was taken during one of my Outback Camera Dates photography lessons in Barcy. It was a random act by an inebriated bar fly who could not resist 10 people on the footpath with big cameras. Thank fully this is the full extent of this genre of images in my portfolio. ;)

I am offering a 🅵🆁🅴🅴 🆂🅴🆁🆅🅸🅲🅴 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭-𝐟𝐨𝐫-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 who keep our outback communititeis pumping.....

Would your Community not-for-profit group like a 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞? (and advertising that comes with it?)
..Why does my group need this site you ask?
- because surprisingly not everyone has a Facebook account (Peter Rabbit style: whaaaaaaaaaaaaatt!) and not surprisingly, the facebook algorithm is showing only the tiniest perentage of your posts to your followers, so people miss out :(
(major bummer for everyone, especially those embarrassing hermits who are totally passionate about supporting local events but don't live on facebook. Guilty.)

A static (yet very easy to update) site, external to Facebook gives your community group a site to share, update and be shared, so your loyal customers and potential customers have one place to go to get all your info (without having to log in to Facebook).

Don't get me wrong, Facebook has its place, but an easy to access, independent site for all your digital advertising is not necessarily it. And worst of all, all these incredible groups and events don't show up on or link to toher incredible groups Google. A site like the one attached can be linked to other pages and sites to lift your ranking in Google search results - thereby helping the whole community too!

Surely, I am not the only one who has frustratedly searched a page looking for a specific download or event details :( (insert tortured argh).

PHOTOGRAPHERS... If you need an elegant, efficient way to retouch your photos, I can highly recommend Pro Retouch v2!! And it's on special! (I've been using this incredible set of actions for many, many years).
Pls tell any photographers you know as this is such an easy way to edit your portraits.

Helloooo! Flourish Resources & Co is back on line after what's been a year of learning, mistakes, learning from more mistakes, wonderful website clients, more learning from life, action creating some clarity and back. However I'm determined to make the last quarter of 2022 count and help you do the same (altho hopefully your first part of 2022 has not been as lost as mine 😬). Are your business photos ONLY of your products or services? If so, you are missing a big opportunity to connect with potential customers. The old marketing saying goes "People buy from people" because its true. People (ie people who might BUY your product or service, therefore important people!) want to spend their money, much of the time where they connect with the business, in one way or another. This is why a good photo of you on your website about page is vital. As well as your actual location in your Insta and Facebook bio. So whilst I reckon this is an awesome photo of side tipping trucks (very cool), it does not create as much connection as photos of staff and management. It just sets the stage.

How can you compete against your little demons today?
For me at this time of year, with numerous projects to complete in the dwindling remaining work days, the first thing is overcoming overwhelm. As overwhelm is my biggest competition that causes me to waste valuable time and make precious progress. I'm kinesthetic and visual, so despite having digital gantt charts and lists, my go to overwhelm buster is the good old sticky notes stuck on the wall or the desk in front of me to keep me focused.💪

This week I am sharing all things WEBSITES... becasue EVERY BUSINESS NEEDS one.

The first thing you need to do is to register your domain name, aka your url.

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator which basically means a specific web resource and where to find it. Its like your street address.

Where/how do I register my domain name or get a website?
[This is a blatant promotion here... well its a win-win for you and I. I have referred so many people to VentraIP over the years, that I am now using the special referral link, so yes, I get a small kickback for referring you - but its nothing in the scheme of helping you get the right service at the right price. There are some major rip-offs out there when it comes to domain name registration and I don't want you to become a victim of them]. When one of my domain names is coming up for renewal somehow these sneaky companies know and I received 3 letters in the mail, numerous emails and even a text message trying to get me to renew with them. And the costs was up to 5 times more expensive than VentraIp! Please be wary so you get conned. ###

If you use the link below to register your domain name you will be reigstering your domain name with an Aussie company, whom are infinitely patient (believe me I have tested them numerous times. 😳), are the best price around, and you are in control of your domain name, unlike if you register through eg Squarespace etc. I cannot recomend them enough (I've been working with them now for alomst 10 years).

For the past 5 years I have sponsored the
by providing event and media photography free of charge. (this was through my previous business Louise Gronold Imagery).
This is a fun and challenging job, it's hard work and a big responsibility to capture and show off the event, VIPs, presenters and sponsors in the best way possible.
At the last event in 2019 we offered an internship (for want of a better word) to a budding photographer who wanted to learn, increase their skills and knowledge and get experience in event photography. I help you by sharing all I've learnt, experienced in my 15 years as a professional photographer. And it was really fun!
If you are a budding photographer attending CCLD and want to gain new knowledge and skills, and get some event photography under your belt, then get in touch ASAP!
