Lambing in Containment 3. Update. The ewes are now back being joined in the same containment area. Lambs were marked a week ago and came back at 119%. Considering there were 165 maiden ewes in the mob we were quite happy with that. The lambs seemed noticeably heavier for age at marking. We have had to leave the lambs with the ewes at present and intend to wean next week. Lack of spaces at the moment is an issue with lambs backed up as part of the feedlot upgrade. We think that the frequent pulse feeding of the ewes is also increasing the number of feeds the lamb get per day. They seems to suckle after each feeding event when they re-mother. More work to do in this space.
