Craig Howard‎ sent this old ad to share; "i just came across this, apparently it's from 1968"
Thanks Craig. I believe that KFC are dropping the “finger lickin’ good” slogan from their advertising because they don’t want people licking their fingers anymore. True story! According to Jan O'Connell in her excellent book "A Timeline of Australian Food"; "The first Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet opened in Guildford in Sydney’s western suburbs in 1968, with a staff of 25. It was opened by a Canadian named Bob Lapointe and the line at launch was “finger-lickin’ good”.
By January 1970, when Colonel Sanders visited Australia, there were 38 stores and they were opening at the rate of one a week. The menu ranged from one piece of chicken and chips (not called fries) for 45 cents to a “Barrel” with 21 pieces of chicken for $5.20. Back then there were no sliders, Twisters or burgers – just fried chicken. And definitely no Hot & Spicy. In 1991, Kentucky Fried Chicken officially became KFC

I have just finished cleaning the solar panels for a commercial site in the Barossa Valley. This site has 48 panels and is located rather close to a cement factory. I clean these panels regularly about every 2-3 months to help the customer get the best benefit from his system. Needless to say, he is one very happy customer.

Why do you need to keep your panels clean:
Solar panels can get dirty very quickly from dirt, dust, pollen, tree and bird droppings, pollution and traffic staining since they are exposed to natural elements. According to the research studies, regular solar panel cleaning and maintenance can actually improve the efficiency of your solar panels by up to 30%. With this massive increase in efficiency, your solar panels will operate more cost effectively. It goes without saying that homeowners should therefore seriously consider regular solar panel service. ZEN Energy Systems readies for release of new Urban PowerBank Energy Storage System

ZEN Energy Systems company is preparing for the release of the ZEN Urban PowerBank in the second half of 2015. This will enable home and small business owners to store and utilise their solar generation 24/7. All ZEN solar energy systems will be compatible with the Urban PowerBank, allowing customers to reap the maximum benefits of solar now, and then adopt energy storage when the time is right.

“We are excited about the release of ZEN’s Urban PowerBank,” says ZEN customer Nicki Henshaw. “This will be the clincher in really making us energy self-sufficient.”

For ZEN, the pending release will be a big moment in the company’s evolution. “We believe we can launch the Urban PowerBank into the market for an installed cost that will be within most people’s expectations,” says Stefan Teat, general manager at ZEN Energy Systems. “This represents a remarkable price breakthrough that will activate the home market for energy storage. These are exciting times.”
