MEET LAUREN — OUR W**EMAKER 🍇🍷
Meet Lauren. Our w**emaker, W**e 101 teacher and undisputed queen of tea consumption.
Seriously. So. Much. Tea.
Black. Stewed. Strong enough to stand a spoon in.
If she's not checking a ferment, tasting a barrel or wandering around the vineyard, she's probably got a cup of tea in her hand.
And when she's not making w**e or drinking tea, Lauren is a card-carrying member of every cat admiration society going.
We're fairly certain if there's a cat within a five-kilometre radius, Lauren knows about it (and has petted it). 🐈
Lauren also runs our W**e 101 classes, where she gets people tasting, asking questions and understanding what's actually happening in their glass.
Give Lauren the right topic and she could chat to a brick wall — luckily, she's got a knack for making even the most obscure w**e fact interesting, educational and surprisingly fascinating.
She's also annoyingly good at making excellent w**e without appearing to break much of a sweat.
Vintage can be chaos. Ferments have minds of their own. There are always a thousand things happening at once.
Lauren, meanwhile, is generally wandering around with her tea, tasting something, making a decision and carrying on as though making really good w**e is just another Tuesday.
It's almost irritating how good she is at it. 😂
Then there's the fact that Lauren looks about 22, despite being only a few years shy of 40.
Which makes introducing her as our w**emaker particularly entertaining.
“Her? The w**emaker?”
Followed shortly by:
“Is she even old enough to drink?” 😂
She is. Very much so.
And then there's the farmer's tan. You don't spend this much time in a vineyard without bringing home a little evidence. 😂
