How much is a full time employee going to cost me? It's a great question and a really important one.

To give you the most straightforward answer, I'll work on a national average low level pay rate without going into detail and asking you all the usual questions that are specific to you and your business and your employee's role.

Let's assume your employee's pay rate is $27 / hour. They will earn about $56000 / year. And will cost you as an SME about $68000 / year

So, you would be budgeting $34 / hour for your cash flow!

As you're thinking about expanding and growing your business, cash flow becomes more vital than ever so when you're thinking about employing someone, make sure you're working on the actual costs!

Do your research or ask the questions from someone who knows the answers.
Too many small businesses expand and get caught out and go under by not working on the actual costs of growth!

Why Is Your Why Important?

When you know your reason for doing something, whether it be your business, passion, hobby or fun times, there comes a different set of energy and resources required to achieve your desired outcome.

If you’re in your business to have fun, be creative and maintain a healthy work-life balance make sure that every bit of time and energy that you’re putting into your passion business is done with the intention of fun. If it’s not fun, stop it!!

If you want to build an empire, with a big team of people, then you’ve gotta throw everything you’ve got into it!!

You see, here are two completely different set of intentions. Serving a purpose and fulfilling a why.

A Why comes in many forms. If we are to look specifically at being a business owner, we look to;

🙋Your personal why, who you are in your core. Your values, reasons.

🙋‍♀️Your business why is grown from who you are and sets the basis for what you do and why you do it.

When you take the time to check in with your Self and are aligned with your why then things come naturally. Decisions are easier, growing (or not growing) your team is easier. You will feel a sense of peace and calm even in the craziest times because you’re not fighting against your purpose.

We hear this a lot "I'm only a small business. I don't need all that formal stuff."

Why not?

Would you service your car yourself?
Would you self-diagnose illnesses?
How about etching that ink on your body?

Maybe you would try, but what do you think the likely outcome will be?

When you go to the mechanic, doctor or tattooist, you're more likely to get what you want, and the job will turn out a load better because they're the professionals!

These fake messages claim to be from the ATO and ask you to open a hyperlink to fill out a form for your income tax return. The link takes you to a fake website designed to steal your personal information and credit card details.

🛑 We’re seeing lots of variations of this scam, this image is just one example. If you receive an SMS like this, don’t click on any links. Instead, report the SMS to us and then delete it.

If you haven't already, you must do it now, because you have until the 14th July 2022 to finalise your payroll and submit the Payment Summaries online.

STP - Single Touch Payroll
YTD - Year To Date
ATO - Australian Tax Office

Whichever system you use it will be fairly easy, just check the balances first, verify and submit 🙌
