Aerowork Bathurst

Big 3 days for Aerowork Bathurst.
Sunday 630am departure from Bathurst for Tennant Creek in the fully loaded Baron. ( only to have to turn around after an alternator failure) with that problem sorted. (Thanks to Mark Morgan for coming in on a sunday) it was back in the air
Bathurst-Nyngan-Birdsville-Tennant Creek. Just made dinner at Memorial Club 815pm .

Early start Monday to comply with the permit to fly. Old prop off, crankshaft runout completed, visual inspection carried out. New prop installed and track inspection completed oil filter inspection carried out.

On to the airframe, aircraft jacked, visual inspection carried out, retraction carried out, then U/S components changed, final retraction test carried out. Engine runs carried out.

All tooling, jacks loaded back into the Baron we just made dinner at the club. 830pm

Tuesday was early departure from Tennant Creek for Alice Spings then onto Bathurst.

Massive thanks to Catherine for sharing the flying in Baron. Also Catherine and Kate for keeping the fluids / food up. (they did Ok as trade assistants as well)

A big week to get a Cessna 172 back to Bathurst after it had prop strike in Caloundra Qld. ( customer didn’t want it sitting outside on the coast while the engine had the prop strike inspection)
Sunday lunchtime we started pulling a loan engine from another 172. Got to Tamworth only one little roo🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Monday arrived Caloundra and started the install with Quinn from AMS who already had the other engine out. Tuesday finished the install, ground runs and checks. Pilots from Ward Air arrived and had the aircraft back in Bathurst late in the afternoon. Wednesday started the drive back after seeing a couple of our suppliers. Mark Morgan, Peter and Jeff had the loan engine out and back in its airframe and running early Wednesday afternoon. I took it easy and made it back Thursday lunchtime. If only all my plans worked this well😂😂

Jono warming up VH-PNJ for its first flight since a upgrade from a O-320-H2AD / fixed pitch to a IO-360-A1AD / constant speed, a lot of work involved thanks to all the boys, Ray Tobin for the painting, Mark Morgan the engine rebuild, Tom Watts the electrical, and our pilot Jono Jonathon Grahame.
