What happens when you put a room full of Hills business owners together bright and early? ☀️
Stories are shared, referrals are passed, people learn from each other, plenty of laughs are had and most importantly, genuine relationships continue to grow.
This week at BNI Prime was another great reminder that business networking can be about so much more than simply exchanging business cards.
Our Feature Presenter, Sarkis from Fresh Star Renovations, gave us an incredibly inspiring look at the person and the journey behind the business.
From beginning his working life as a blacksmith, travelling the world, speaking five languages with English being his fifth, to eventually building his life and business here in Australia, Sarkis’ story is one built on hard work, craftsmanship, resilience and family.
And you can see that passion in the way Sarkis talks about renovating homes. 🏡
Whether it’s transforming a kitchen, creating a beautiful outdoor area or undertaking a complete home renovation, Sarkis believes a home should be practical, efficient, beautifully finished and, above all, feel like YOUR home, because for so many of us, home is our place of refuge.
Our newest member, Vera Chin, then took us somewhere completely different with a fantastic education piece.
She asked us to imagine ourselves one year from now at BNI Prime and think about what this chapter could become if each of us intentionally contributed to the growth of the people around us.
And she left the room with one powerful question:
“Who became better because of me?”
Such a simple question, but one that captures what Givers Gain® is really about. Networking isn't only about asking, “What can I get from this room?” It’s also asking, “Who can I introduce, support, encourage or create an opportunity for?”
Of course, we had some celebrations too! 🎉
🏆 Christine Muscat took home the Golden Mic Award for the best 60-second referral pitch, brilliantly rising to Jenny’s challenge of incorporating the word “spring” into her pitch, although there was plenty of competition around the room!
👏 And congratulations to Carol Russell from Your Finance Lady, who won our Lucky Door Prize in recognition of the fantastic networking and relationship-building she continues to do behind the scenes.
Throw in visitors, referrals passed, business generated, testimonials, conversations before and after the meeting, and a leadership team continuing to keep the chapter moving forward and it was another brilliant morning at Prime.
So, if you're a business owner in The Hills District, Norwest or surrounding areas looking for a community of local professionals who want to know your business, understand who you're looking to meet and genuinely help each other grow, we'd love to have you visit.
Come experience a BNI Prime morning for yourself.
You might arrive wondering why anyone voluntarily networks at 6:30am… and leave understanding exactly why we keep coming back. 😉
See you next week, Prime!
