Tony Micallef - Celebrating 23 years with Airefrig.
Tony's journey started as a Sales Representative when the Newington branch first opened in NSW. After some time away, he returned as an Internal Salesperson before progressing into the role he holds today as a sales engineer.
What he enjoys most hasn't changed over the years: helping customers find the right solution, whether it's a new project, a refurbishment, or a service repair. As the business has grown to four branches, Tony's role has evolved too, taking on more of a mentoring position for staff across the network.
NSW State Manager Mathias Karrer states how "after 23 years in the business, and many more in the refrigeration industry, there's not much Tony hasn't seen, and he seems to know just about everyone in the industry too." His technical knowledge, Mathias adds, is second to none, making him a huge asset to both customers and the team.
Newington Sales Engineer Beau Kupris, who's worked closely with Tony in recent years, describes him as an amazing mentor, someone he can always turn to when unsure of a product or problem, known for his positive attitude and friendly demeanour.
Beau describes a full circle moment of how Tony once presented gauges and PT charts to his TAFE class back in 2011, and years later, the two returned to Granville TAFE together to present to the next generation.
For Tony, the best part of 23 years has been the people, staff and customers alike, many of whom have become lifelong friends. As he puts it, it's the family atmosphere Airefrig has created that's made it such a pleasure to be part of.
