We've had a lot of rain too, and the dams are full, the creek is flowing and the soil is nice and wet, SO we are setting up nicely for spring.

It's getting to the end of the autumn colour here in Beechworth, and the winery is looking stunning.
We've just updated the Vinelea web site with tasting notes for our currently available wines, and added the order form here:https://vinelea.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Vinelea-Order-Form-May-2026.pdf
We are extremely pleased with these vintages, the 2024 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are excellent, no surprise given the 'vintage' weather of that summer. Sadly, we only had 2 barrels of each due to a severe frost in Oct 2023.
The '23 Shiraz and '21 petit-blanc are also available, along with limited stock of the '21 Shiraz. All 3 are drinking beautifully and showing the benefit of some time in the bottle.
Please don't delay a purchase, our stocks are very limited this year.

Another wine from the past, back when I was experimenting with yeasts and trying to make a big Northern Rhone wine.
This one came out more Rhone than Saint Joseph!
Now it's silly smooth, and beautifully balanced but still a very big Shiraz.
Another example of how well Beechworth wines age.

Autumn colours are here now at Vinelea, it's nice to reach Autumn after a pretty disastrous Summer.
We sadly had no vintage this year, we lost all of the white grape crop to frost very late in Spring, and then due to the extreme heat and dry the red grapes failed to form properly, even with watering. We would have loved to have saved the Pinot as it's become our best wine, but the grapes were all skin and seed with very little juice.
Such is the nature of farming, it can just be hard work for no return.
So we now reset and prepare for 2027.
Our next vintage release is in May.
