Lions Club provides so much to communities, and the Lions Club Bargain Centre at Eden Hills is Mitcham Councils largest charity. Created as a result of the devastating fires in Tasmania in 1967 bringing together the generosity of our locals to assist with surplus goods to support those who lost everything.

It was so good to meet with Kevin Brooks and talk about the success of the Bargain Centre and how our community benefits. As well as the future plans to continue growing to deliver more.

Lions Club Bargain Centre delivers so much for so many, but this is just a few:
* recycling and reducing landfill
* supporting charities to assist less fortunate with major supporters of RufUs and Second Chances SA
* running a profitable opportunity that reinvests the profits back in to the community

How nice is our neighbourhood? I love how Angie and Justin open their home and their vintage online shop to the public every now and then. You can see their hard work come to life in a well designed organic / cottage garden showcasing vintage furniture, gates and signs. Not to mention I’ve been hunting for a copper bowl for beating my egg whites which I finally found here!

What a great night with Libetal Party Members out to support our Federal Candidiate, Dr Rachel Swift. It was a buzz of mingling, meeting new faces, auctions and of course hearing from Rachel on her campaigning efforts engaging across her electorate. Such a strong and motivating speech from Hon John Olsen and his perspectives of our travels through COVID from both the Federal stage and here under our Premier Marshall in SA.
Can’t wait for more events bringing everyone together for the common cause.

As Chair of the finance committee at the North Eastern Community Hospital it was great to present at the AGM last night on stable performance through a challenging year. To report on our $5.6m redevelopment of our aged care facility during this time was a proud moment for all of us on the Board.

Spring is one of my most favourite times in Belair National Park. As a family we are gearing up to start work on an adopted piece of the park to help remove the weeds and let the natives flourish. Out with our ‘Friends’ learning about our most prized species that if you don’t take the time to look, you’ll miss. The orchids are beyond beautiful.
