Number One Fear in Horse Riders....
In my experience over the past 30 years of working with horse women and horses, being a body worker, working with trauma and psychosomatic medicine as well as a Results Coach, I have worked with the variation of fears that have arisen.
There are seven core fears that present but one stands out more than any other, and is the biggest restricting factor in horse riders playing small and not living life by their desire.
Do you know what the number one fear is?
🐎Afraid of falling off?
🐎Afraid of the horse being hurt?
All though they rank highly on the fear scale, they are not the number one fear.
🥇What is your number one fear that holds you back from totally engaging in your true vision with your horse?
The number one fear is the "Fear of Abandonment"
Not what you were expecting.
The Fear of Abandonment is very real.
It is the fear of you being abandoned by your peers.
It is the fear of if you excelled in what you did, and you achieved a higher result over your friends,
Would they still like you?
Would they judge you?
Would the tall poppy syndrome come into play?
What will they think?
Are they judging me from the sidelines?
If you excelled, would they still be your friend, your riding companion.
The Fear of Abandonment comes into play when you don't compete against yourself and your whole focus is competing against others and beating their score, beating their clear round or not beating their score or not getting a clear round, so they win.
And fear of abandonment sets in that if you do better, they won't be your friend and you make yourself small and unconsciously self sabotage.
Chose your tribe, the ones that want to see you succeed, the ones that cheer you on from the sidelines, the ones that share your wins and when you don’t, encourage never to give up on your dreams.
✅When we compete against ourself,
✅Ride a better round than the round previously,
✅When we only knock down one rail instead of 10,
✅When we have a higher score in our dressage test than the score before
🏆and we learn to celebrate ourself in all of those wins, is when we lose our biggest fear, the Fear of Abandonment.
