For the first time at the Bendigo Bank and Be.Bendigo Bendigo Business Excellence Awards, our judges presented Special Recognition Awards to five businesses ✨

In these five categories, the judging was incredibly close, with outstanding applications making it too difficult to separate the top contenders. The judges made the decision to recognise an additional business for their outstanding achievement within their category.

Congratulations to Thales Australia 🏆

Judges recognised Thales’ commitment to the Bendigo community and local workforce, saying “There is clearly innovation embedded in the Bendigo Thales operations and their commitment to community, employment and growth in our region is evident.”

Thales was also named Manufacturer of the Year, an award recognising continuous improvement, best practice, creativity and innovation within Greater Bendigo’s manufacturing industry.

Operating from a Bendigo manufacturing site with a history stretching back to 1942, Thales today supports around 300 direct local jobs. Across more than eight decades, the site has been part of Bendigo’s manufacturing story, developing generations of skilled workers and manufacturing capability in our region.
