This was the day I had my last drink 🍸
September 1st 2025.
So I’ve just ticked over 12 months alcohol free. I’ve done 14 months before, so I’m not new to this.
Will I ever drink again? 🤷🏼♀️ No idea.
And Jayson is almost at 7 months grog free 🍻
Did we have problems with alcohol?
Not what people would say is a ‘problem’ in the traditional sense - no.
But do we have issues with moderation?
In absolutely friggen everything.
Because our personalities are ‘all or nothing’.
We work hard and live hard. And we both liked to drink hard too.
What’s been the hardest now we don’t have alcohol? It’s seems silly to say, but now it’s stopping working each day to take guilt free rest.
For us - Alcohol was an ‘end point’ - the end of a day, the end of a project, a mark of celebration 🎉 , something to stop and sit with.
We used it as a full stop. 🛑
But without it, our new challenge is us burning ourselves out because without the booze we have endless amounts of energy, motivation, and we can smash out HUUUGE volumes of work because we feel great and we haven’t taught ourselves to have ‘knock off beers’ without the beers just yet🍻
So this is the next chapter. 📖
Learning ‘guilt free rest’ 😴
And I think it’s gunna be our biggest challenge yet 💪🏼
