Okay so this is a month late but I am SOOO bloody posting it anyway because this one absolutely deserves to be shared. 😂🩷

A month ago I jumped on a plane to Bali with one of my favourite humans and honestly it was the best thing ever. But before anyone thinks I just rocked up to the airport and winged it — let me show you what the week before actually looked like hey. 👇

1:1 check ins with every single member of my team. Monthly finance and sales wrap done. Coaching calls and group sessions ticked off. Management admin meeting sorted. Oh and I also did a bloody wedding the week before because why not hey. 😂 And then Director's planning smashed out before I even stepped foot on that plane.

And you know what happened while I was gone?? 🩷

Absolutely everything kept running. Beautifully. Without me. Because of my absolutely incredible ripper of a team and the systems we have built together. I didn't get one panicked call. Not. One. 😂🙌 I mean I reckon I was more stressed about leaving than they were about me going!! 😂

Right so I'm just going to say it.

If your business was already feeling tight before all of this — the fuel prices, the interest rates, the cost of literally everything going up — it is not going to sort itself out. Not on its own, not if he just works harder, not if you just hang in there a bit longer.

I know that's not what you want to hear. But I've sat in front of hundreds of tradie profit and loss statements and I can tell you within two minutes what's coming if nothing changes. And right now, what's coming is a lot harder than what you're already dealing with.

Here's the pattern I see constantly. He's working 60, 70 hours a week. You're holding everything together at home AND trying to stay across the business. The revenue looks bloody fine on paper. But at the end of the month you're scraping. Some weeks you can barely pay the staff, let alone yourselves.

She tries to bring it up. He goes quiet. And neither of them know how to get through it. And honestly? That's not even a money problem at that point, not really — it's a marriage problem, and the business is just where it's all showing up.

And here's the bit that kills me — in most cases the fix isn't that complicated. But you have to actually look at it. You have to stop telling yourselves you're "doing okay" and get real about where things actually are.

Because okay right now is the gap between fine and failing. And with what's happening out there, that gap is getting smaller.

But here's what I also know. The couples who do look at it — who actually sit down and get across their numbers and make a plan — they stop fighting about money. He starts coming home. She stops carrying it all alone. The business becomes something they're building together instead of something that's pulling them apart. That is available to you.

We wrote about all of this. Heaps of it. What's actually coming, why working harder won't save you, and what to do instead. It's a straight-up read and I reckon if any of this has hit home, you need it.

Revenue means stuff all if there’s nothing left for YOU.

I’ve coached:
👉 $2M businesses
👉 $5M businesses
👉 even $10M businesses

…where the owners weren’t even taking home $150k.

Big turnover.
Big stress.
F**k all in the bank.

One bloke was doing heaps of houses every year…

…and still waking up stressed about money.

Because the issue usually ISN’T revenue.

👉 It’s leakage.

Always a bit of fun doing a wedding. Yes I’m a wedding celebrant! I don’t do many weddings nowadays but this one in Darwin was so lovely - the best couple - down to earth - so gorgeous. There’s something I just adore about working with couples. In coaching and in celebrancy. I think it’s being able to dig out the raw honesty, the true emotions. Getting people to truly see where their partner is coming from, it’s just the best. I love it 🥹
