With Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition 2026 heading to Perth this October, it’s a timely reminder of the corrosion challenges facing defence equipment in the field.

Artillery, transport vehicles, mobile platforms and support equipment all spend long periods in storage, transit or exposed conditions before deployment. Without the right protection, corrosion can compromise readiness, increase maintenance costs and shorten asset lifespans.

INTERCEPT Technology™ offers a copper-based, solvent-free, chemically non-outgassing solution engineered to protect critical equipment against corrosion, without the mess or hazards of traditional VCI methods. It’s trusted across defence, mining, oil and gas, and other sectors where equipment reliability is non-negotiable.

Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition 2026 runs 6 to 8 October at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre with trade and defence visitor registration, free! Links in our bio & ➡️ https://landforces.com.au

On the road again!

Todd and Sebastian have just returned from Kalgoorlie, catching up with some of our valued customers across the goldfields.

They spent time on site, understand current preservation challenges, and talk through how a recurring maintenance schedule could help protect equipment and assets over the long term. For sites managing corrosion risk in remote and demanding conditions, a proactive preservation plan can make a real difference to uptime and asset life.

We’ll be back in the region again soon. If you’re a Kalgoorlie based operation looking to discuss preservation scheduling, get in touch with the team today!

Did you know Intercept Australia manufactures custom-sized corrosion protection bags in-house at our Perth HQ?

No two shipments are the same, so we don’t force them into a standard size. In The Loft, our team hand-fabricates and heat-seals each bag to the exact dimensions a project needs, from compact components through to oversized industrial equipment.

This in-house capability means tighter turnaround times, precise fit for reliable corrosion protection, and full control over quality at every seal.

It’s one of the reasons mining, defence, and oil and gas clients trust Intercept Australia for packaging that performs exactly as specified, every time.

Need a custom size for your next shipment? Get in touch with our team today!

Two people. No cranes, no specialist equipment is all it takes to fit a full anti-corrosion cover to an armoured vehicle launched bridge.

The bottom section goes on first, with careful alignment against the vehicle. The top section follows, form-fitted to match exactly. Industrial velcro locks the corners into place, then straps and buckles connect the top and bottom sections, taking the structural strain off the zippers rather than relying on them to bear weight.

Weather-tight zippers seal the whole system against moisture, while still allowing crew access through the front for maintenance or engine start whenever needed. Reseal it, and the protection picks up right where it left off.

It’s a simple process on the surface. The engineering behind why it works is anything but.

Did you know corrosion protection doesn’t have to mean coating equipment in chemicals?

Intercept Fabric works differently. Reactive copper is embedded directly into the polymer itself. Instead of blocking corrosive gases, the fabric actively draws them in and neutralises them before they reach the metal surface underneath, a sacrificial process that protects the asset for 5+ years.

No VOCs. No VCIs. No emitted chemicals, no residue, no cleanup.

It’s the same technology protecting a covered armoured vehicle launched bridge in long-term storage, and it’s engineered to work in demanding defence, mining and industrial environments alike.

Sometimes the smartest protection is the kind you don’t have to think about once it’s in place.

Protecting a 31-foot armoured vehicle launched bridge from corrosion isn’t a matter of just throwing a tarp over it.

Here’s how it’s done.

What’s the challenge?
An AVLB sitting exposed to the elements is vulnerable to corrosion, mildew and UV degradation, especially across long-term storage or transport between deployments.

What’s the solution?
A custom-fitted Intercept Fabric cover, built in two sections so it can be installed without heavy equipment.

How does it actually protect the asset?
Intercept Fabric uses a reactive copper technology embedded in the polymer itself. It sacrificially draws in the corrosive gases that cause rust, so the metal underneath doesn’t have to. No VOCs. No VCIs. No emitted chemicals.

What does it deliver?
5+ years of anti-corrosion protection. 5+ years of antimildew protection on the interior surface. 5+ years of UV protection, environment dependent.

Form-fitted panels, industrial velcro at the corners, YKK weather-tight zippers, and strap buckles that take the strain off the zippers entirely. Personnel can still access the vehicle through the front zippers for maintenance and engine start, then reseal it and the protection keeps working.

This is what long-term asset protection looks like when it’s engineered properly, not improvised.

Did you know? A turbine rotor is the heart of a power plant, spinning at high speed to generate electricity for the grid.

Our Intercept Thailand team recently preserved 6 turbines and 4 casings with Intercept Technology™ packaging, meaning inspections can happen during preservation without replacing the packaging. That means:

👉🏻 cost savings
👉🏻 less plastic waste
👉🏻 no solvents, safer for workers

Smarter protection for critical infrastructure. Get in touch to find out more.
