Another intricate embroidery with muted colours on linen cloth - what a mammoth effort !

This piece was also bought along to the showroom by the same new client (earlier post of cross stitch sampler) who once again knew exactly how she would like this piece to be framed.
Initially asking for a matboard with a "v groove", that can have the effect of a double matboard.

To be honest, Zac cringes when this is requested, as he needs to do this by hand not having a computerised mat cutter, (CMC).
So, able to suggest a double matboard of the same colour as would have a similar effect, our new client agreed and was thrilled with the end result. This works exceptionally well when bold colours are chosen.

Embroidery of any kind, like a sports jumper are complex, arduous and time consuming to frame. Zac does cringe each time he has a request to do either, - certainly his nemesis !
However, just so worthwhile to see the completed result. 🙂

It was such a delight to see this exquisite embroidery presented by a "new" client. I personally was in awe of the intense workmanship on linen cloth.
Most pleasing also, was the bold rich colour chosen for a matboard and a traditional style dark moulding (frame) to complete the project

We have often wondered when completed projects leave our showroom where Zac's "work" ends up !

Recently we received a photograph with these attached words - Both pictures look stunning located in this spot. They are the right dimensions for that placement. The frame you helped me select was perfect, - the "floating" frame was the right choice. When needed we will be back to see you for framing !

It has been a very looong time since there has been a post to "our" Aleah Framing FB page, - the admin assistant has been busy looking for her mojo !!

In the meantime Zac has been kept busy with projects to his showroom and he has also been teaching "the basics" of picture framing, with Council of Adult Education (CAE), based in central Melbourne.

When initially approached, Zac was uncertain it was a role he would enjoy, but didn't take long to realise that he LOVES the associated challenges, and interaction with such a diverse group of adults who want to learn new skills.

It is a short course of 4 weeks, that are 3 hours each week and in the last year Zac has undertaken 7 courses.

The students gain the understanding that framing is not just "sticking four bits of wood together" and all manage to complete a finished project. Many have asked for an advanced course to enhance their knowledge to complete more complex projects.

This is a first attempt at cross stitch - completed in 8 months, a mammoth task ! Not your usual cross stitch with 2 threads, but this is with four threads and on printed Aida cloth - not a counted piece.

Always great to see where a completed project finishes up !

A very colourful work of art with the muted tone of the chosen matboard and hint of gold in the moulding (frame) this is now a family heirloom to treasure.

Zac took the top matboard close to the edge of the artwork and did not cover the actual poster, leaving an edge (gap) that adds to the presentation of the whole project
