A decent summary of the announcement from the Government last week about planned changes in the coming couple of years, to NDIS access for children with mild to moderate developmental delays and autism.

We are waiting to learn more about how this will work for children in the early intervention space, to ensure that they get the support needed at this crucial developmental time in their lives.

The Minister for Disability and the NDIS Mark Butler today used his National Press Club address to announce $2bn in Federal funding for a ‘Thriving Kids’ program. The measure, designed to rein in NDIS cost growth, will particularly target kids with mild-to-moderate developmental delays and autis...

Australia’s hidden productivity powerhouse is disability inclusion. Employing more of the 5.5 million Australians with disability could boost GDP by $16 billion yearly and $43 billion over a decade. Inclusive workplaces aren’t just fair—they’re more innovative, engaged and profitable. It’s a huge economic win hiding in plain sight. https://buff.ly/WNdVFq4 ID blind person at work

The NDIS pricing arrangements have been released for 2025 - 2026. We are concerned at the cuts to Allied Health travel, especially for participants who need these services in regional and remote areas. We are also concerned with no increase to the hourly rate for support coordination, and the removal of the plan management set up fees. We are working with participants and providers in our local areas to further understand the impact that these changes will have on participants and services delivering supports.
