The thing about being the bottleneck in your own business.

You don't usually notice you've become one. It happens slowly. Things start taking a bit longer, you start replying to emails a bit later, the follow-ups don't quite happen, the proposals sit in drafts.

And because you're inside it, it just feels like a busy patch.

It's not a busy patch though. It's structural. You've outgrown the way you're currently running things and the business is telling you, you're just too in it to hear.

Need help figuring out that structural patch? Reach out - happy to help :)

"It felt like admitting defeat."

That's what a client told me when I asked why she'd waited so long to get help with her admin.

I hear this a lot. And I understand it - when you've built something yourself, handing any part of it over feels strange.

But here's the thing: getting support isn't a sign that something's wrong. It's a sign that something's working and you're ready to protect it.

Is that a mindset shift you've had to make? πŸ‘‡

EOFY is six weeks away.

Here are three admin jobs worth doing NOW so June isn't a disaster πŸ‘‡

βœ… Chase outstanding invoices before everyone else does in June
βœ… Cancel subscriptions you're not actually using
βœ… Update your client records while you still remember who's who πŸ˜…

Small stuff now = way less stress later.

Busy isn't the same as profitable. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

I've spoken to so many business owners who are absolutely slammed - booked out, doing great - but still working until 9pm because the admin never stops.

More clients doesn't automatically mean more freedom. It means more of everything, including the stuff you hate doing.

If that's where you're at, I'd love to have a chat.

I spent 30 years in corporate before I went out on my own.

And honestly? The thing that surprised me most wasn't how hard it is to run a business β€” it was how much of what I learned along the way actually prepared me for it.

Thirty years of admin, systems, and problem-solving. Now I use all of it to help small business owners who are drowning in the stuff they don't have time for.

It took me a while to get here. But I wouldn't change it 😊

Hot tip for tradies: your quoting process is probably costing you jobs, and you don't even know it πŸ‘·

Not because your prices are wrong. Because inconsistent follow-up is invisible lost revenue.

Quote goes out. Client goes quiet. You mean to follow up. Life happens. They've already called someone else.

A simple system fixes this. Happy to walk you through what works - drop a comment or DM me πŸ‘‡

Can we normalise admitting that running a small business is a lot? πŸ˜…

Not in a dramatic way. Just in a "I have 47 tabs open and three of them are invoices I keep forgetting to send" kind of way.

The backlog isn't because you're bad at your job. It's because you're doing your job AND everyone else's.

Sound familiar?

ICYMI: Small business owner with employees πŸ‘‡

From 1 July 2026, super gets paid on payday - not quarterly. Contributions need to hit your employee's fund within 7 business days of each pay run, or penalties apply.

It sounds simple, but for a lot of small businesses, it means changing how payroll actually works. The sooner you talk to your bookkeeper or payroll software provider, the less of a drama this will be.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has a straightforward explainer - worth five minutes of your time now rather than a headache in June.

Friendly reminder that EOFY is closer than it feels πŸ‘€

Every year I watch small business owners hit June in a complete panic - scrambling for receipts, chasing invoices that are now six months old, trying to remember what half their subscriptions are even for.

March is the boring-but-brilliant time to sort it out.

Future you will be very smug about it. Trust me πŸ˜„
