Another culvert installation completed by the JN Excavations crew. 🚜

This culvert was installed beneath a main road to improve drainage and safely carry stormwater from one side of the road to the other. Proper drainage is critical in protecting the road surface, reducing erosion, and maintaining safe access during and after rain events.

We thought it was time to properly introduce the people behind JN Excavations. So, kicking off our team introductions with the boss himself.

Meet Josh, Director of JN Excavations.

For Josh, civil construction is more than machinery and projects - it’s about community, people and creating infrastructure that regional towns can benefit from for years to come. From local roads to sporting facilities, he takes pride in delivering projects that leave a positive impact long after the job is complete.

As a locally owned business, supporting rural communities is something close to home, both on and off the job site.

Q: Why civil construction?
A: I enjoy seeing projects come to life from the ground up and being part of work that communities will use every day for years to come.

Q: Who or what motivates you?
A: My wife and kids.

Q: Favourite tool?
A: Hard to go past an excavator. Anything with GPS and machine control is always a winner too.

Q: What inspires you?
A: Seeing communities succeed. I enjoy watching a project come together from start to finish, but the most rewarding part is handing the job over to the client.

Q: Best part of the job?
A: Watching a project go from an idea on paper to something physically delivered.

Q: What’s in your toolbox?
A: a phone that never stops ringing and probably a few receipts shoved somewhere they shouldn’t be 😂

Q: What’s in your lunchbox?
A: Depends if it’s been packed the night before but I normally eat on the run so it will vary from something healthy to a bakery pie or whatever local café is nearby.

Tracey, our admin superstar, goes above and beyond every day, ensuring operations stay on track. And Gabby, who plays a vital role in JNE, working behind the scenes to help drive the business forward.
