We towed the boat up to Cape York via the Wakooka track from Cooktown up the Frenchman’s track and then the Ott track
The tracks where gnarly this year making it a challenge getting the boat through
Nothin the trusty Toyota and Warn winch couldn’t handle,
The Wakooka track was over 100km of 2nd low range driving, It took us over 12hours to complete, super slow rutted technical dusty driving in and out of river beds and between tight tree lines, we were happy to see the end of it after damaging our rooftop canopy on the trailer navigating between tree lines. No winching was needed
The Frenchman’s track was next 54km from the east side to the west we headed the hard way, The Pascoe river was bonnet deep but the real challenge was the climb out of the Pascoe, We winched 3 seperate times on the Frenchman’s she was tough with the boat on
The Old Telegraph track was last 82km long
Palm creek being the first challenge she was super difficult getting the boat through palm creek and gunshot having to do 3 massive winches to drag the hung up boat trailer out of the ridiculous bog!
We put our gear to the test and the end result was all worth it with a beachfront camp at Loyalty Beach
