In just over 12 months we have diverted well over 400+ panels from landfill, contributed to changing local, state and federal policies on solar industry waste, brought electrical trade training to the Eurobodalla and set up regular workshops in practical trade skills for community.

We built a solar powered trailer predominantly from waste to serve espresso and fresh juice from, at events where we raise funds for community groups with like minded ethos.

Weve donated electrical upgrades and power systems to assist those in need, acquired funding to construct an emergency response trailer for our community and worked with youth on the Lanterns from Waste project for River of Art Luminous festival 2023.

Right now we are turning our attention back to setting up the very first community solar reuse centre in Aus!
Complete with a waste art gallery/shop, panel processing depot and training workshop.

So yes there is far more to us than just solar panels!

Not unlike all other community groups our ability to achieve great things for the environment and community is only limited by our capacity and 100% reliant on volunteers. So if youve been considering ways in which you could contribute to community in a real and practical way or would like to be more green than teal and give our environment a much needed helping hand, we hope you will consider volunteering with us…there are so many roles available.

Lisa’s ‘Lplate’ lesson for this week courtesy of the RFS Bodalla station; looping at the switch is a better way to go than the old school loop at the lights method, especially when solving faults. Labelling cables & junction boxes is also good practice.
Im finding in the electrical industry old school practices are often redundant for good reason!
