In a remote village in West Sumba, the whole community owns 'Mada Ole' together, a tomato and chilli business built and run by the villagers themselves, with support from mentors who work alongside SurfAid 🌱⁠

"We are learning to truly listen to the community's needs and build solutions together," shared one of the session leaders. And it's working, Mama Dewi, the team's treasurer, is now learning to use a laptop to manage the books herself, a small but powerful step forward.⁠

That’s a wrap on 2026! A record 1,832 surfers from 22 countries around the world raised $972,063. That’s enough to bring our full health, water and nutrition program to 19 remote communities in the places we love to surf.⁠
