Merryville Merino Stud

Merryville stud is one of Australia's leading studs in producing quality superfine and fine Merinos Flock rams are also available from mid September each year.

Merryville stud was founded in 1903 by the late Sir Walter Merriman and is the unique position of having maintained management, selection and classing in a father/son relationship for the last 111 years. At the 2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show Merryville again took out the Supreme Merino Exhibit with their Fine Wool Ram. Merryville has now achieved 11 Supreme Merino awards, 25 Stonehaven Cup awards,

31 Most Successful Superfine and Fine Wool Exhibitor awards and 33 Most Successful March Shorn Fine to Medium Wool Exhibitor awards at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Never before has any stud won the Supreme and all four Champions at Armidale or the Supreme and all three Champions at Mudgee in the one year. Nor has any stud combined this with selling the top priced rams at the sale - Merryville achieved all this in early 2010. Merryville rams are available throughout the year at all major multi-vendor sales as well as the stud's on-property ram sale on Friday 12th September 2014. Merryville will be offering 5 rams for sale at Sheepvention in Hamilton Vic on Monday 7th Aug. Sale starts at 10am EST and will be interfaced via AuctionsPlus. Merryville retains 100% of semen rights.

Pleased to win overall Grand Champion Merino fleece (with the Grand Champion Merino Ram fleece) at our first showing at Queensland’s Ekka. The fleece was from the Grand Champion Superfine Ram at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2021, testing 18.6 micron and cutting 12.8kg. We were also pleased to win Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Merino Ewe fleece as well
