Diversified Business Skills

Wrapped up another workshop today at Bundjalung Tribal Society exploring digital skills, apps and tools! 💻✨ Thanks for sharing your beautiful space and enthusiasm today you mob!

I love working with smaller, more intimate groups. There's time to support everyone individually, answer questions and make sure no one gets left behind.

One more workshop to go this Thursday, then I'm calling it a year for DBS Learning! 🙌🏽

October is Indigenous Business Month 🖤💛❤️

This year’s theme is Local and Connected — celebrating the strength that comes from doing business on Country, in community and through the relationships we build with one another.

To celebrate Indigenous Business Month, I’m running two workshops for mob this October — one online for First Nations women across Australia, and one face-to-face here on Bundjalung Country.

💻 Women’s Business: Starting from the Ground Up

📅 Thursday 22 October
⏰ 12pm–1pm (Sydney time)
💻 Online through Ember Connect

Got a business idea sitting in your head, but not sure what to do next?

I’m hosting a relaxed online yarn through Ember Connect for First Nations women who have a business idea, are just getting started, or simply want some practical guidance on where to begin.

We’ll yarn about getting your idea off the ground, business structures, lessons and mistakes, social media, websites, Google Business, digital tools and some practical next steps.

This session is for Ember Connect members. Membership is completely FREE for First Nations women, so if you’re not already a member, jump over to www.emberconnectlive.com.au/events and sign up.

📱 Digital Apps & Tools – Beginners Workshop

📅 Tuesday 20 October
⏰ 11am–2pm
📍 Bundjalung Tribal Society
☕ Morning tea provided
🖤 Open to all First Nations people

This is a practical, beginner-friendly 3-hour face-to-face workshop introducing some of the digital tools that can make business and everyday work a whole lot easier.

We’ll cover the basics of:
• Google Drive
• Canva
• Microsoft Excel

No advanced tech skills needed — this one is about getting comfortable with the basics, having a go and being able to ask questions along the way.

Places are limited, so please RSVP directly to me at [email protected].

I’m really looking forward to spending Indigenous Business Month sharing some of the skills I’ve picked up along the way and supporting more mob to turn ideas into action, build their digital confidence and grow their businesses. 🖤💛❤️

It's happening!! 🫣😬😃🎉

I'm so excited to be speaking at the Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference (AITC) this year in Boorloo / Perth! 🖤💛❤️

My presentation, When Story Meets Strategy: Digital Marketing for Cultural Tourism Success, will explore the incredible opportunities ahead for Aboriginal cultural tourism — and how we can do it better.

I’ll be talking about the power of storytelling, how story can shape the way we develop and manage cultural tourism experiences, and how we can turn powerful cultural stories into effective digital marketing strategies that connect authentic experiences with the right audiences.

Because it’s not just about marketing the story. It’s about thinking strategically about what we share, how we share it, what we protect, the experiences we create and the legacy tourism leaves behind.

And of course, I’ll have a few other little nuggets to share along the way! 😉

Who’s going to be at AITC this year? I’d love to connect in Boorloo!
