Thanks Business Lismore for putting on a great night! Well done to all the finalists and winners at the Business Lismore awards, I felt honoured and a little shocked to be a finalist in both the Excellence in Business & Professional Services category and for Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion for my business Diversified Business Skills.
Though I didn't take out any first prizes, it is still pretty flattering to be considered amongst such amazing businesses in the Northern Rivers! Congrats to everyone πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ

Cultural Tourism Opportunities for Women: From Storytelling to Strategy

Cultural tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors in Australia, and it presents incredible opportunities for First Nations women to create meaningful businesses while sharing culture, truth-telling, history and connection to Country.

During this relaxed 45-minute yarn, I'll be sharing:
-Why cultural tourism is a growing opportunity for First Nations women.
- My Cultural Tourism Framework to help turn your ideas into strategies
- Practical tips for getting started, whether you're just exploring an idea or ready to launch.

I've spent many years working across the travel and tourism industry and as an Aboriginal woman I am passionate about creating pathways for First Nations women through business, entrepreneurship and tourism.

I'd love you to join me for this conversation!

Did you know it's recommended to update your professional profile photos every two years?

A lot can change in that time... your business evolves, your style changes, and (in my case!) I've gone from blonde back to my natural hair colour. πŸ˜„

So here's the latest version of me!

Keeping your profile photo current helps people recognise you, builds trust, and makes your online presence feel authentic and up to date.

πŸ“Έ When was the last time you updated your business profile photos?

πŸ’₯ BOOM... another website launched!

I absolutely love bringing small business brands to life online, and this one was such a pleasure to create.

What I love most about Nourish.Fast.Thrive. is that Rachael is passionate about helping women create healthier, more sustainable lifestyles through realistic nutrition, practical support and simple habits that actually fit into everyday life. As a busy woman myself... I can definitely relate! πŸ’š

For this website, the vision was clear from the beginning: clean, fresh, minimalistic and elegant, while still feeling warm, welcoming and professional. I wanted the design to reflect Rachael's calm approach and make it easy for visitors to find exactly what they need.

I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Go and check it out at www.nourishfastthrive.com.au and on socials Nourish.Fast.Thrive. ✨

If you're ready to give your business a professional online presence, I'd love to help. I offer affordable website packages for all small businesses, plus an exclusive discounted package for First Nations businesses.

Ahhh... what a wild first half of the year! 🀯

Another workshop wrapped up today, and I think that makes 11 workshops delivered so far this year! πŸ™Œ

People often see the workshops and the business side of things on my socials, but they don't always see everything that goes on behind the scenes. Planning, promoting, creating presentations and workbooks, printing resources, registrations, reminder emails, follow-ups... it's a lot!

So when I'm not working, you'll usually find me right here with my family and my fur babies (the horses). 🐴 They have a way of slowing everything down and reminding me what really matters. It's where I recharge.

I've decided to take a little break from running workshops for the next six months. I do have another two already scheduled (and maybe another couple after that), but after that I'm shifting my focus.

The second half of this year is heading in a new direction.

I'm diving back into study to gain qualifications in On Country Management and Cultural Sites, while also focusing more on training and delivering cultural tourism programs with a new RTO.

I'm genuinely excited about what's ahead.

It's still about creating opportunities, building capability and supporting communities... just in a slightly different way.

Watch this space. 🀎

Running a workshop is a bit like hosting a party.

You spend weeks planning.

Creating resources.

Setting up the room.

Hoping people will come.

And if I'm honest... when registrations are slow, those negative voices start creeping in.

"Maybe no one wants to learn from you."

"Maybe you should just stop."

The truth is, I've invested tens of thousands of dollars into my own education over the years. Degrees, diplomas, certifications and workshops.

Not because I had to...

Because I genuinely love learning.

Now I take everything I've learnt and share it with other small business owners for a fraction of what it cost me, hoping it saves someone else years of trial and error.

Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it.

Then the workshop starts.

Someone has an "aha!" moment.

Someone leaves feeling more confident than when they arrived.

And then... they come back.

Some people have attended three or four of my workshops over the years.

To me, that's the biggest compliment I could ever receive.

It's a reminder that this isn't about filling a room.

It's about making an impact, one person at a time.

So, if you've been thinking about joining my Social Media Strategy Workshop in Kyogle on Monday, I'd genuinely love to have you there.

And if you've ever attended one of my workshops before...

Thank you.

Your support, your kind words and your belief in me are a big part of the reason I keep showing up.
