Even in the age of AI, human judgement still matters most.

In Episode 94 of The Building Doors Podcast, Daryl Sadgrove reminds us that technology should enhance critical thinking — not replace it.

“We still need humans in there to just pause, think about things, are we doing the right thing here?”

Hosted by Lauren Karan, this episode explores the balance between AI acceleration and human leadership, and why organisations that empower people will outperform those focused purely on automation.

This month marks four years since we set out to redefine recruitment for Australia's built future.

What started as a vision to deliver a more personal, transparent and partnership-driven recruitment experience has grown into a trusted business supporting organisations and professionals across construction, infrastructure, engineering, transport, manufacturing and mining.

Over the past four years we've had the privilege of:
✨ Building lasting partnerships with incredible clients
✨ Connecting exceptional talent with meaningful opportunities
✨ Supporting career-defining moves and business growth
✨ Delivering executive search and specialist recruitment solutions across Australia
✨ Growing a community built on trust, integrity and genuine relationships

While we're proud of what we've achieved, we're even more excited about what's ahead.

To every client, candidate, team member, referral partner and supporter who has trusted us along the way — thank you. Your support has helped us build something truly special.

Here's to continuing to shape futures, build careers and create opportunities for years to come.

Happy 4th Birthday, Karan & Co.

One of the most important parts of a headhunting exercise is understanding what the individual actually wants in their next role before ever talking about the opportunity itself.

Too often recruitment is approached from the perspective of selling the role first when in reality the best talent are assessing whether the opportunity aligns with their motivations, values, career goals and life stage.

As recruitment partners part of our role is guiding clients on the psychology behind how to engage people properly.

What attracts someone is rarely just salary.

It is leadership, flexibility, project exposure, stability, growth, culture, autonomy, purpose and timing.

The strongest recruitment outcomes happen when businesses understand not only who they want to hire but what they genuinely need to offer to create meaningful engagement with that person.

That is where strategic search and true partnership makes the difference.

Daryl Sadgrove joins Lauren Karan on Episode 94 of The Building Doors Podcast to unpack one of the biggest misconceptions about AI in infrastructure

“If you have bad data, bad systems, bad processes, bad culture, bad communication, and you throw AI into that, actually it could make things worse faster.”

AI is not the solution to broken foundations.
The real opportunity lies in fixing communication, collaboration, culture, and leadership first — then using AI to supercharge people, not replace them.

This episode is a must-listen for leaders navigating productivity, digital transformation, and the future of infrastructure.
