It's NAIDOC Week, a time to honor and celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This week, let's come together to learn, appreciate, and amplify the voices and stories of Australia's First Nations.
The theme for NAIDOC Week, ""For Our Elders,"" calls us to recognize the important role that Elders have and continue to play across every generation. They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, leaders and our loved ones.
Let's listen to and learn from the wisdom of Elders and community leaders. Let's acknowledge the strength, resilience, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our shared history, culture, and society.
By recognizing and celebrating NAIDOC Week, we strive to build a more inclusive and equitable Australia. It's a time to reflect on the ongoing journey towards reconciliation, justice, and healing. Let's work together to create a nation where Indigenous voices are heard, and their rights and aspirations are valued.
