Thinking knee pads are definitely the way to go when it comes to herringbone floors - pretty sure I’ll have blisters tonight 🥹

This is my first time doing herringbone floors (by the way) so if anyone has any neat tricks up their sleeves that will make my life easier, it would be much appreciated 🙏

Things I have learnt while doing these floors:
1. K pads are lifesavers

2. Thank god for lasers and levels (thank you for making the best on the market).

3. I’ve never loved my hat and mask more in my life (thank you pretty sure I’d have glue all over me if it weren’t for y’all gear right now.

4. Things have to be perfectly square or near bouts otherwise you will 10000% see it against the floor.

5. I hate having to change positions (from being on the floor to getting up to cut - the knees hurt man).

6. Herringbone flooring looks amazing but is an absolutely c*nt to lay 🥰

PRODUCT REVIEW:

Howdy all, so quiet a few months back I got the hammer sleeve.
Why? Because my hammer would swing and hit the side/back of my legs and it would make me mad at a whole different level. My hope was that the sleeve wouldn’t do it.
At first I was a bit reluctant, it seemed big and bulky to be honest. However, over the last few months of wear, I have really come to love it.

My hanger doesn’t hit my legs anymore, it is at a good height for me to grab and put away, it doesn’t fall out anymore when I’m kneeling or squatting. The best part, it has little holders on the front of it which perfectly fit my good fine chisel and some drill bits or pencils. Not to mention I’ve legit hung every king of tool off of it.
I’ve hung both my framer and finish gun, my drills, everything. At the end of the day my hammer sleeve becomes an extra arm to hold s**t.

For anyone getting internally violent because their hammer is pi***ng them off, or just want an extra hand, 110% recommend.
I’ve had it for quite some time now and absolutely love it 🙌🏼

Howdy all, for all those weekend warriors or DIY soldiers out there, here is some advice if y’all are thinking about adding some new additions to the bathroom (rails, toilet holders, coat hangers, ect).

You’ve just removed your bathroom or you’re wanting to add some little extras to your ensuite and aren’t sure on how to attach everything properly to your freshly tiled walls.

Here’s what you need:
- I wall plugs (I prefer the green ones on a long roll - I can cut them to the length I need).
- screws (25/30mm Phillip screw are generally enough for most bathroom fixtures - depending on the item).
- 6mm diamond core bit (I like the ones with wax in them-they last longer)
- 6mm diamond spade tile bit.
- WD40 (keep reading)
- spirit level (depending on what you’re doing).

What do you do?
- If you’re installing anything that requires it to be level or plumb, mark your plumb/level line.
- mark the holes you’re going to drill
- you’re going to start your drill holes with the 6mm diamond core bit, as you’re drilling you’re going to use the WD40 to keep the bit lubricated (this is to avoid the bit burning out quickly).
- once you’ve made a deep enough drill hole you change the piece over for the 6mm spade bit, using wd40 again during the drilling.
- your holes are drilled, time to put the plugs in the holes, don’t make the plugs too long.
- attach your backing piece for the item you’re installing via screw. Make sure you don’t over tighten the screw. Over tightening can cause the tile to crack, or for your plug to be bored out.
- once your backing pieces are on you can push or screw your attachment onto the wall.

The Sutton bits I normally get from wurth, but many local tool shops will have them too.
Hope that helps y’all with any little missions you have 😝
Have fun fam ✌🏼

Got the luxury to work on an old queenslander out in Lefhand Branch.

Got to tap into my old renovation skills over Sunday and Monday;
We modernised the home by opening up 3 large rooms to turning into a full open plan living, kitchen and dining.

Not going to lie, I was a bit reluctant bit I am damn glad I decided to go.

I did some bearers/joists, replacement flooring (which involved cutting out the original flooring), framing out external walls, window and glass slider install, new internal VJ panel linings and because the VJ sheets only come in 3m lengths there had to be a join, to which I put a colonial style pitcher rail over to hide the join. It also adds character and charm to the home, not to mention finishing the look with all colonial style Skirts and arcs.

Overally, pretty damn happy and stoked with the outcome.

GLASS BALAUSTRADE IS INNNN!

So I've had my Stabila digital level for ages now, without having an opportunity to use it, but today I finally got the chance and I am beyond happy with the quality and simplicity of it.

I've been able to use it now for the installation of glass balustrade at our Nola street project. The level has so many different options for plumbing and levelling.
Thanks I'm loving my little gift 💛🖤💛

Aight guys, I've been wanting to go to a product review on these bad boys of ages.

Brand:
Price: $69.95
What are they?: speedbor spade bits

I have had these bad boys for about 3yrs now and my honest opinion is that they are the best thing since sliced bread. I have noticed though that you either love them or hate them, never in between.
Now, I'm with the new school, in the sense I put my spade bits in my impact driver, not my drill. Y'all can hate, but I feel it's easier to control.

Why do I love them so much?
They cut quicker and better than any standard spade bit. Not to mention, I've had them for 3yrs and they have deadset outlasted all of my standard spade bits. It's been 3 years of abuse and none of them have snapped or blunted over time. Obviously the downfall of them though is if they do break and blunt over time I can't do jack about it. To me it is worth it considering how long they last.

Now you're probably wondering how they cut quicker. The centre spiral drives into the timber like a screw, that combined with your pressure behind it, the screw end works with the timber unlike a standard bit where it has to force its way in.

Ill upload a video later in real time of the difference, so you can see for yourself.

100000/10 reccomend

Hey guys,
I'm sorry for not updating the page.
S**t has been pretty hectic to say the least.

For those who don't know, on the 21st of March 2022 I fell down some stairs at work and broke my back in 2 places.
Yes I am on work cover, yes I can't be a carpenter for probably the next myths to a year, yes I am going mad and my depression and anxiety are pretty bad. BUT they are getting better now that I am back working albeit I am the office bish now.
Which isn't bad, as I am now learning the bookwork side to being a builder, which will come in handy eventually in the future.

For the time being I'm trying to take it one day at a time, it's been about a month since the accident and I can thankfully walk again, although it isn't for long, and if I do overdo I sure as hell feel it the next day.
The pain is so bad the prescription meds don't do anything except make me feel crappy, So I have decided to not take them and just deal with the pain beat way I can.

Anywho, if anyone has some good exercises I can do from a chair that would be minty fresh, as I feel like I am losing all of my muscle.

Want to work in high end new builds?
Well, today is your lucky day!

Ardent is growing unbelievably quick and we need tradies.

If you or someone you know wants not only good work, but a good boss and workplace, then send them our way. - Previous renovation history is a plus, but not essential. - feel free to call/text/email.

With the influx of jobs on the horizon, we are also chasing contractors across the board. If you can recommend any good businesses in the following fields please tag/comment them or simply message us.
- Tiling
- Painter
- Plasterer
- Cabinet Maker/Joinery
- Carpentry crews
- Pool/pebble crete sprayers
- Stair supplier/builders

Thanks in advance.

Howdy fam, long time no see or talk.
Welcome to my new home for the next however long.
Her name is Yarradale and (insert voice) "she's a huge b*tch".
She is soon to be 2 mega luxury homes, 1 is a Modern old Queenslander/Hamptons home the other is a crazy modern contemporary home.

So far all footings, retainings pier holes, the swimming pools and all slabs have been dug out and are ready for steel and Crete.
The homes are going to be absolutely insane once they're out of the ground.

Can't wait to give you guys more updates x
