Big thanks to everyone who came out for the 2026 Queensland Mines Rescue State Cup, hosted by Argo and Carborough Downs. Eight teams competed, including our own Carborough Downs and Ironbark crews.

Thanks to Queensland Mines Rescue Service for putting together a great event. Now we're looking ahead to the Australian championships, and already looking forward to next year's State Cup.

🏆 2026 QMRS State Cup Champions 🏆

A huge congratulations to our Carborough Downs Mines Rescue Team, who took out first place at the 2026 QMRS State Competition yesterday! Your hard work, commitment and team work have paid off and each team member should be incredibly proud of this achievement.

A special congratulations to our very own Matt Harris from Carborough Downs, for taking out the 2026 Matt Best Trophy! A fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition for his leadership throughout the competition. Great work, Matt!

We're incredibly proud of Carborough for bringing home the State Cup, and equally proud to have our Ironbark Mines Rescue Team competing. They put in an incredible performance. Well done to our Ironbark team!

It was a great day for both teams and we are very thankful for everyone who has supported them through the many hours of training and preparation leading up to yesterday's competition.

Congratulations, Carborough Downs! The Cup is staying at CD for another year! 🎉🏆

Meet the Carborough Downs and Ironbark Mines Rescue Teams for 2026!

These are the team members who will be representing Argo tomorrow at the Queensland Mine Rescue State Cup, at Carborough Downs.
It will be the first time both Argo teams have competed alongside eachother at the State Cup.

After plenty of training and preparation, both teams are ready to put their skills to the test tomorrow and we’re sure there’ll be some friendly rivalry along the way! We look forward to seeing everyone in action tomorrow.

Good luck to our Carborough Downs and Ironbark teams!!!

The countdown is officially on! Argo Natural Resources is proud to host the 2026 Queensland Mines Rescue State Cup at our Carborough Downs operation on Thursday, 13th August.

Bringing together Mines Rescue teams from across Queensland, the QMRS State Cup is an opportunity to showcase the skill, professionalism, teamwork and dedication that underpin emergency response across our industry.

We look forward to welcoming competitors, officials and supporters to Carborough Downs for a memorable day.

We are pleased to announce that Argo has partnered with Cougar Group to bring new key equipment to our Carborough Downs Mine.

We recently took delivery of the first of three new pieces of equipment designed to support and boost our board and pillar operation. This milestone is the result of a strong, long-term partnership that has been building over a number of years and one that we are excited to continue moving forward.

A huge thank you to everyone involved from both the Argo and Cougar teams for the incredible time, effort, and collaboration required to make this transaction happen.

These assets are vital to our ongoing journey as we continue to advance and optimise our operations.
