NDIS Minister Mark Butler announced significant changes to the scheme's future. We understand that change brings stress and uncertainty. We are as committed as ever to being your source of clear, reliable updates to help you navigate these changes.

The Vision: Fairness and Sustainability

The government is moving toward a "Four Pillar Plan" to secure the scheme. The focus is shifting from medical diagnoses to functional need. This means support will be based on how disability impacts a personโ€™s daily life, ensuring a fairer approach for everyone.

Key updates at a glance:

New framework timelines: To ensure a smooth transition for families, the rollout of new framework plans has been pushed back, now set for 1 April 2027.
Strengthening integrity: A new digital payments system and expanded provider registration will be introduced. These "checks and balances" ensure that every dollar is protected from fraud and redirected to frontline support.
Mandatory registration: Expansion of mandatory registration to more services, including higher-risk activities like personal care and daily living.
Support outside the NDIS: A $10 billion investment in "foundational supports" will rebuild community services, including the Thriving Kids program for children under 9 and the newly announced Inclusive Communities Fund.
