5 Ways to Stay Safe around Roadworks this Winter

Winter conditions can make roadworks more dangerous for motorists and traffic crews. Wet roads, reduced visibility, and longer stopping distances mean extra caution is essential.

Here are 5 simple ways to stay safe:

1. Slow Down Early
Wet roads increase stopping distances. Reduce your speed as soon as you see warning signs.

2. Watch for Traffic Controllers
Stay alert, follow directions carefully, and avoid distractions near work zones.

3. Keep a Safe Distance
Rain and low visibility reduce reaction times. Leave extra space between vehicles.

4. Drive to the Conditions
Temporary speed limits are there to protect motorists and workers nearby.

5. Be Patient
Roadworks can cause delays, but they help keep our roads safe for everyone.

Our crews work in all conditions across Queensland & NSW. Please slow down and stay alert around roadworks this winter. 🚧

A big congratulations to our TMD Ross Tucker on reaching his 1-year anniversary with the team!

Over the past year, Ross has worked hard within our design team to deliver quality results in a timely manner. His consistency, attention to detail, and commitment have played an important role in supporting both our team and our clients.

It’s also been great to see the design team grow over this time — something we’re really proud of — and Ross has been a key part of that journey.

We look forward to continuing to work with Ross and seeing what the next year brings.

Thanks for all your hard work, Ross!

We’re proud to shine a spotlight on our incredible NSW crew! Led by Area Manager Katie Brown and Supervisor & Fleet Coordinator Anthony Brown, our Grafton and Coffs Harbour depots are in great hands.

Together with their support team, they consistently go above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. Their dedication, teamwork, and positive attitude help create a strong culture — and we all know a happy team means happy clients and continued growth.

We’re incredibly proud of what our NSW team has built and achieved, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. We also look forward to welcoming a new Supervisor into our Coffs Harbour team very soon!

Great work, team — keep it up!

Most people assume road work zones are more dangerous at night…
but the reality might surprise you.

Most incidents actually happen during the day.

Why?
Because during daylight hours:
🚘Traffic volumes are higher
🚘Drivers are often rushing or distracted
🚘People become overconfident in “good visibility”

That combination can lead to split-second decisions — and serious consequences.

Our crews are out there every day, working just metres from live traffic and relying on drivers to stay alert.

Next time you see a work zone during the day:
Slow down. Stay focused. Follow directions.

Because visibility doesn’t equal safety.
