Hard wearing floors for commercial environments are one of our specialities.
This recently completed mechanics workshop in Albion has come up a treat after having a full facelift including removal of the old coatings, epoxy and polyurethane 3 coat system, with non slip additive applied to the external ramp in high-vis orange.

Burnished polish on this little slab in Brighton.

The end result of the burnishing process is directly related to the finish that is left by the concreters and the care that is taken after they have finished.

In this case, it was a flat, neat, clean and beautifully finished slab that was well looked after prior to our arrival.

This meant the polishing process went very smoothly and the end result speaks for itself.

What a transformation in this moisture affected downstairs area!

From dirty, old concrete with large cracks, slab height disparity, major moisture ingress, and efflorescence, to a beautiful, light coloured, bespoke flake finish
(get your flake mix personalised) which has enlarged the space massively and created a lovely homely feel.

This kind of flooring makeover makes us very proud and happy to do what we do.

After grinding the concrete and cleaning up the mess, we used a hydrostatic waterproofing membrane to mitigate the moisture ingress and provide a suitable base to install a layer of floor leveller.

The beautiful smooth finish from the floor leveller gave us a solid and flat surface where we could install an epoxy flake system safely, and with the knowledge this will be a long lasting, hard wearing finish.

Floor levelling is almost always necessary when laying large tiles or engineered flooring.
In this case there will be 1500mm x 750mm tiles being installed.
It was crucial for to get the finished tile heights flush with the sliding door tracks and also to get the surface extremely flat (3mm over 3m tolerance) for laying such enormous tiles.
The entire main area was brought up 15mm to give the tiler 20mm to the top of the door track.
The smaller room was raised 15mm along the door track and transitioned back as the room was sloping up very slightly.
Worked out beautifully, and in a single pour.

Flake floor in "black opal"
This floor was in very poor condition and took a lot of work to get it right before being able to apply an epoxy flake finish.
A mix of DIY concrete and severe water damage meant we had to remove and replace the worst affected areas with new concrete.
We then installed a hydrostatic waterproofing membrane over the entire area before installing self leveller in multiple applications to create a solid substrate for us to be able to apply our 100% solids epoxy flake system with solvent based polyurethane top coats.
Magic does happen. 🤣

This pigmented, self levelled finished floor has created a unique, elegant and classy entertaining area that is tough, long lasting, scratch resistant, chemical resistant and suitable for heavy foot traffic.
This job was started on a Sunday and completed by Wednesday to get the guys back to business as quickly as possible.
We cannot recommend enough to go to .brewingco for a couple of delicious bespoke ales and to check out our floor.
