We have officially launched our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a significant milestone for the business as we embrace our role in Australia’s reconciliation journey. The 5 July 2023 launch coincides with NAIDOC Week and is our commitment to tangible and impactful actions, both in the present and the future, to actively contribute to deepen our understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Dean Fradgley, Chief Executive of our Australia Division says, “we are committed to building a sustainable future for our people and the communities in which we operate. We acknowledge the shared responsibility we all hold in achieving the goal of a reconciled Australia and are determined to play our part.”
A huge thank you to our supporting partners Yarnnup and their endless advice to assist us to get to this point.
Image: This is the artwork adorning the cover of the reflect RAP, and was commissioned by First Nations Graphic Designer, Elaine Chambers-Hegarty. The artwork presents a central yarning circle that speaks to the Fletcher Building value of ‘Customer Leading’ with the yellow representing customers, and the green representing our employees, FB and the broader community and we work, learn and live “Better Together”.
There is also clear representation of the organisation, including executives, leaders, employees and business units, providing strategic input to display how the brands and values are intertwined. This dovetails into the organisational approach towards reconciliation and the joint effort and alignment towards greater cultural capability towards First Nations peoples, organisations and communities.
