We are Tom and Chona, living in Brisbane, Australia (originally from Philippines, migrated to New Zealand 14 years ago and crossed the ditch to be in a warmer weather and closer to home) with our 4 beautiful and loving boys. Tom as a Forester/Horticulturist by profession worked as a ground maintenance staff maintaining the beautiful landscapes and gardens of one of the retirement villages here in Brisbane, while I work in the health sector as full-time Registered Nurse. And as this is our desire to live in a safe place for our children, we have to work harder also to live a life that is comfortable and give our kids a secured future. We don't have regrets of our decisions and move. We did whatever we could to make ends meet, but most of them didn't work. We admit, we sometimes don't see each other and our lives have been a roller coaster and no matter how hard we worked, we only just get by. And as we get older our health gets its toll too. Our kids are growing fast and we have been missing a lot of them. We remembered one night on our prayers before bed, our youngest Bubba said in his prayer "dear God, please give Nanay and Tatay (mom&dad) money so they can stay and see me receive my award tomorrow and take me photos?" it broke our hearts, it might sound just a simple event for some of you but to us and to my little boy, that was a big day for him that should never be missed by us as parents. But working for somebody else is not just easy, you cannot just say "I'm off today because I have so and so" that is really a big hurdle being an employee. Hence we grabbed the help offered by our friend mentor, the Caparas team, and started our own online business. What we most loved in this business is that it ticked all our boxes.
