🔋If a commercial battery has been sitting in the too expensive basket, it may be worth looking at the numbers again.

📅From 1 September 2026, eligible NSW businesses can access the NSW Commercial Battery Rebate under the PDRS.

The incentive covers eligible battery systems from 20 kWh through to 30 MWh, with indicative discounts of around 20 to 30% for battery only projects and around 30 to 40% when new or additional solar is installed.

For farms and regional businesses with high power use, that could make a real difference to the cost of a project.

There is a fair bit of roof space out at Windellama, NSW. We put it to work.

This Fox ESS off grid system combines 12.2kW of solar with 41.9kWh of battery storage, giving the property the ability to make and store its power on site.

For rural properties, that is the bit that matters. The system needs to be sized around how the place actually runs, not just how many panels will fit on the roof.

This is Bredbo, NSW and it’s a proper off grid ground mount build.
18.3kW solar
58.8kWh battery

Temps commonly drop below minus 8°C in winter, so we designed in a battery system with integrated heating. This battery can operate down to minus 30°C without performance degradation or failure.

We also set up multiple arrays at 30° and 40° pitch angles so production stays strong across both summer and winter. And because it’s a high wind zone, we selected bifacial panels rated for cyclonic conditions.

Queensland’s severe weather season is generally November to April, so spring is the time to get ahead of it.
