We're pleased to be supporting AusIMM's MetFest! in Bunbury as an Alliance Partner Sponsor, and contributing to the technical program with two presentations from Sedgman's Principal Consultant Andrew Curtis and Senior Process Engineer Nicole Curtis.

Their presentations will explore two critical topics facing the resources industry:

⚡ Metallurgical Testwork: Moving Beyond the Chemical Focus
Examining why physical ore characteristics, variability and geometallurgical understanding are essential to reducing project risk and improving project outcomes.

💡 Tailings Retreatment: Critical Pitfalls and Project De-risking
Discussing common challenges in tailings retreatment projects and the strategies needed to unlock value while managing technical and economic risk.

MetFest! provides an excellent opportunity to share practical lessons learned, discuss emerging technologies, and connect with industry professionals focused on improving the future of mineral processing. We look forward to seeing colleagues, clients and industry peers in Bunbury next week.

Demonstration plants have become critical decision infrastructure for modern critical minerals projects.

Sedgman is proud to contribute to this topic at the webinar 'Start with the End in Mind – Designing Demonstration Plants for Operational Design Purposes' by Critical Minerals Association Australia's upcoming webinar.

Bringing a wealth of expertise to the session are the following Sedgman employees:
⚡Process Team Lead Brenden O’Shea
⚡Principal Consultant Andrew Curtis

They will be joined by industry experts to explore how demonstration plants can provide defensible evidence to support scale-up, optimise flowsheets and de-risk operations.

Each month, the Sedgman Star Award is presented to an employee who embraces and clearly demonstrates our core principles: integrity, accountability, innovation, delivery and safety, while collaborating effectively with their colleagues to drive business success.

Abbas Mahmoodi, our June award recipient, is recognised for his exceptional management of key projects across North America, working closely with our global design engineering partners, and balancing complex project demands and mandates, all while continuing to deliver strong project outcomes.

Since joining Sedgman in 2018, Abbas has progressed through various project engineering and management roles, developing senior processing specialist expertise, and is currently working as a Project Manager. Beyond his project work, he is also involved in attracting and onboarding new talent in Sedgman's Montreal office and helping to connect these employees with project opportunities.

While Abbas was initially attracted to Sedgman's strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation, he has found its people and culture to be among the key reasons he enjoys his job. "Sedgman's collaborative culture, everyone's willingness to share knowledge, and a shared commitment to delivering quality outcomes create an environment in which we all succeed."

"The work for which I am being recognized was made possible by the collaboration, expertise, and commitment of many colleagues. I am grateful to work with such a talented team and proud of what we have achieved together."
