Oh what a night!🎉

We are proud to share that Yellow won the National Project Award in the Government Projects category at the Project Management Achievement Awards on Friday.

The team was awarded for the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Project.

Helping Queensland communities be better prepared for future droughts wasn’t without its challenges – shortly after the project started during the 2021-22 disaster season, the first of nine major flooding events hit the state.

The ability to rise above challenges is a testament to the successful partnerships between all levels of government, multiple universities, the private sector and community stakeholders.

Thank you and congratulations to our partners in this project, the Queensland Agriculture and the Rural Economies Centre of Excellence.

Thank you to the Australian Institute of Project Management for hosting a fantastic evening and a huge congratulations to all of this year's finalists and awardees.

A very merry Christmas to everyone🎄Thank you for a fantastic year and cheers to 2023!

It's always a treat spending time in North West Queensland, so it was great to have Jo back out in Julia Creek this week to meet with the North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils to talk about drought resilience in the region.

We're in the early stages of the second round of the Regional Drought Resilience Planning (RDRP) Program, led by the Rural Economies Centre of Excellence and Queensland Agriculture.

Regional Drought Resilience Plans will be delivered across nine Queensland regions, including the North West, in close consultation with councils, organisations and communities. The plans will have a sharp focus on the agricultural sector and allied industries and help to drive decisions, actions and investments to proactively manage drought risk.

Importantly, the plans will build on the Regional Resilience Strategies and the Queensland Strategy for Disaster Resilience led by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.

The RDRP program is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Queensland Government. You can read more about the program at https://bit.ly/3W1Qflg

We look forward to being back out in the North West soon!

We are thrilled to have received two awards last night at the Australian Institute of Project Management's Project Management Achievement Awards for the Future Drought Fund Regional Drought Resilience Planning project.

The project not only won the category award for Government Projects, it was also announced as the 2022 Queensland Project of the Year!

Throughout this project, we coordinated more than 370 engagement activities with almost 200 stakeholders in regional communities to deliver five drought resilience plans as part of a pilot that was jointly funded by the State and Commonwealth Governments.

Managing Director Ben Norling accepted the awards on behalf of The Yellow Company, the Rural Economies Centre of Excellence and Queensland Agriculture. Congratulations to the entire project team on this outstanding achievement.

The project will now contend for the National Award in Sydney next year.

Bo's back! 🥳

We're excited to welcome back the one and only Bo to the team this week after spending six months in Europe.

Bo travelled overseas to watch his daughter graduate her PhD then soaked up some time in Croatia, Iceland, the UK and more.

He might have had to leave the epic Croatian coastline behind but Bo's already gearing up to jump into some awesome projects!

It's great to have you back.

It's a rare opportunity to have the whole team dressed in our favourite colour! 💛

We're dressed in our lightest and brightest yellow today in celebration of Australasian Women in Emergencies Day. The Yellow Co was founded in 2011 off the back of one of Queensland's largest flood events in history. Since then, disaster resilience projects have continued to be a key focus.

More than half of our team at Yellow are women who have made significant contributions to building resilience to disasters. Today we thank our team and all women working in emergencies across Australasia for their knowledge, skills and leadership.
