We hope women around the world had an amazing International Women's Day yesterday and felt more inspired than ever to push for . At Elite FM, we are proud to support women and empower them to achieve their full potential.

We are thrilled to share that our very own Director, Tamika Davey, was honoured to be asked to be the MC for Facility Management Association of Australia's QLD International Women's Day Breakfast 2023. It was a fantastic event, and Tamika did an incredible job as the MC, bringing together an inspiring panel of speakers.

We know that stepping out of our comfort zones can be challenging, but it's so important for personal growth and development. Tamika's willingness to take on this role as MC is a great example of that. We couldn't be prouder of her!

We also want to give a big shoutout to the amazing panellists, Pip Courtney, Mai Aristoteli and Stacey Quinn, for sharing their journeys and inspiring us all. It was truly an honour to hear from such accomplished and inspiring women.

The HOW and WHY.

Everyone has a different story of how they got into the and industry. Today, we share with you how Director, Tamika Davey, got into the industry and ultimately brought Elite FM to life.

As many can relate, Tamika 'fell' into the industry. She started her professional life as a nurse assistant in the country before relocating to Sydney. Here's where things changed.

After working in aged care for roughly 10 years, Tamika was looking for a change. Still looking for roles where she could help people, Tamika stumbled across an admin assistant role with a facilities management company and decided to apply.

Fast forward to the interview and landing the job, Tamika wanted to know why she got the job and the response was " You don't have preconceived ideas about how the role should be performed, and you've got the right attitude to learn. We'll mould and train you to deliver what the company needs."

Tamika was able to see the world of and appreciated every moment, taking steps to excel in the company and to further her education. Still being a very male-dominated industry at the time, Tamika was lucky enough to be under great management and was mentored and pushed into leadership positions. Mentors helped her to understand why they do what they do, as well as how to lead and take people on journeys with her.

Throughout Tamika's Facilities Management journey, she pivoted into different areas such as and and faced ups and downs along the way. After a number of years in the industry, Tamika saw a gap in the market and founded Elite FM, where she now provides outsourced FM and project management to clients all around Australia.
